COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by nature’s untamed beauty, LaGrave (pronounced \l?-gräv\) is the first of our 12.7-oz. corked and caged bottle releases. Bottle conditioned and highly carbonated, this Triple Golden Ale is steeped in the tradition of strong ales originally brewed in Belgium. The unique Belgian yeast forms the bedrock of LaGrave’s complex flavors. Strong and alluring at 8% ABV, LaGrave boasts a sweet, fruity flavor with a well-rounded mouthfeel and semi-dry, lingering bitter finish.

Bottle poured into glass. Despite careful pour very large fluffy head that took awhile to subside. Nose is sweet toffee candy and belgian abbey yeast. Taste is mild yet pleasantly sweet. Slightly chewy mouthfeel. Very good stuff. Wish it was more widely available.

Pale golden pour with a tight white head. The nose is slightly sweet and a little bit worty. A peppery sort of floral aroma with some decent spiciness and a touch of bready malt character. Has more honey notes than most tripels I’ve had. Bready and a little bit sweet with some soft fruity notes, but the yeast is actually pretty restrained. There is some light pear and subtle banana but also a subtly sweet malt character. As it warms, more floral and fruit notes come out alongside the honeyed flavour. It’s a decent brew but is missing the dryness and spice that I like in a tripel.

Bottle at home. Aperitif before Christmas dinner. Aroma of yeast, tropical fruit, honey. The flavor is very sweet up front and in the middle. Notes of floral honey and mango, banana, yeasty esters as it warms. Finishes with a pilsner-ish noble hop flavor.

This came in a champagne-corked 375 ml bottle - what for? It has a floral aroma, with some yeast and honeycake. The taste is like a cross between a lager and a tripel - lightly sharp hops side by side with golden honey sweetness and graham crackers. The hops remind me of mainstream lagers unfortunately. A fine brew, but not a superior tripel.

12.7 oz bottle poured into chalice. Great sweet, yeasty, slight alcohol aroma. Not much of a head. Great flavor, not too sweet, just subtle notes of fruit. Yeasty. Great mouthfeel, great carbonation. Suggested for sure.

375ml bottle, from Pinocchio’s. Pours a hazy, light amber color with a white head and a little lacing. Aroma is yeasty, grass, hay, clove. Medium on the palate with creamy, full carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bready, yeast, some grass, light bitterness, with a yeasty, spicy finish. Nice.
