COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by nature’s untamed beauty, LaGrave (pronounced \l?-gräv\) is the first of our 12.7-oz. corked and caged bottle releases. Bottle conditioned and highly carbonated, this Triple Golden Ale is steeped in the tradition of strong ales originally brewed in Belgium. The unique Belgian yeast forms the bedrock of LaGrave’s complex flavors. Strong and alluring at 8% ABV, LaGrave boasts a sweet, fruity flavor with a well-rounded mouthfeel and semi-dry, lingering bitter finish.

2014/08/15 - Pours a hazy golden/straw colour with a large, soapy, white head that dissipates slowly without lacing. Aroma is biscuit & caramel malt, yeast, cloves, mild alcohol, and esters of banana, bubblegum and apple. Taste is sweet caramel, yeast, apple, stonefruit, clove and sweet alcohol. Mouthfeel is medium to full, slightly sticky with lively carbonation and a warming, boozy finish. Pretty good, would have been better if it were a little less sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear and bright gold with a huge white head...good retention and lacing. Aroma is subdued but has a soft peach, a touch of white grape and very faint spice like a coriander. Flavor Is more dry and spice forward...some mild leather and earthy/faintly resinous hops...champagney. lots going on with good balance. Mouthfeel is light / medium and silky with a dry fairly bitter/rindy finish.

Bottle. Slightly unclear goldenorange in color with a steaady whitish head. Sweet garden fruityness, some yeasty spicyness and bit of biscuity notes in aroma. Later some grassyness and banana bubblegume notes appears. Very fruity taste, some bitters from the greener department from the summer meadow are there too. Creamy tropical fruity aftertaste with a little biting spicy twang. Excellent.

Rich deep honey coloured body with orange highlights, a touch of copper and a thinnish, two centimetre tall just off-white head with some sediment noticeable at the bottom. Aroma of honey, jasmine, flowers, yeast, toffee, peaches and a good bit of nutty malts. Full-bodied; Rich honey flavour with a lot of perfumey and floral flavours showing some subdued malt notes and twang of the yeast on the end. Aftertaste is relatively straight forward with only a deep floral and yeastie note and some subdued sugars coming through - not too complex, but also showing a nice effervescence throughout. Overall, a good tripel, but not as good as I expected from the ratings. Still, nice to try and a worthy example if you like the style, but compared to the real belgies that i’ve been having recently, this is a touch of a letoff. I sampled this 37,5 cL split bottle purchased from New Beer Distributors in New York, New York on 08-November-2014 for US$3,25 sampled at home in Washington on 18-February-2015.

Pours a golden amber from a bottle, thick head. A classic example of a Belgian strong ale, redolent of alcohol, dry as a bone and extremely effervescent. Very good beer.

Refrigerated 12.7 oz. brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Aroma is fruity (mostly light orange), medium/light body, well carbonated, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is fruit (citrus) and some yeast, slightly dry finish.
