COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with native Pennsylvania neck pumpkins harvested just a few miles from our brewery at Strites’ Orchard, Master of Pumpkins conjures the spirit of autumn by combining roasted pumpkins and traditional pie spices with a French saison yeast. This natural fermentation releases a palate of vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, and honey. In addition to 750mL bottles, Master of Pumpkins is also currently available on draft and for take-out growler fills in the Tasting Room. Taste it you will see. 375ml, caged and corked bottle. Poured a darker and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Pumpkin, some spices, caramel, and some vanilla.

Drake (8765) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - NOV 25, 2014
375 mL bottle from Beer Run, opened Halloween 2014. Pours a hazy copper with a medium foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of strong spice, nutmeg and clove, cinnamon, squash and pumpkin, vanilla. The taste is pumpkin, spice, caramel, vanilla, toasted malts. Medium bodied, low carbonation, strong lingering spice. Solid.

Sample at Kurtkeller 017: Pumpkin-tastic 02 on 10/13/2014. Slightly hazy copper color with a thin off-white head that diminishes quickly. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of ginger, malt and caramel. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, clove and ginger. Potpourri of spices in the finish, as well as a touch of vanilla. Decent overall.

Shared bottle at Craft Ale. Poured hazy orange with off-white head. Nose was pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, mild hops. Tasted of pumpkin, spice, hops, nit sweet but with a finishing resiny hop matched with natural pumpkin and spice flavor.

12.7oz bottle, shared with danielcoor and friends. Mildly hazy amber orange color. Thin off-white head. Good ropes of lace. Pretty excited for this, considering the high rates. Upfront, though, I’m surprised how much spice there is. Dominated by nutmeg and clove. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of soft lighter carbonation. Moderate bitter taste. Light to moderate sweet, kind of spicy and rough. Some pumpkin to it beneath the spice. Was hoping for more from this.

750 ml bottle shared by some pals who just moved to town - thanks, Colin and Kristin! Bottled October 2013. Odd time to bottle one of these. Consumed in late August 2014. Pours a hazy burnt orange with some yeast floaters and a finger of resilient khaki head. Aroma of nutmeg, allspice, clove, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, vegetal pumpkin, and toasted brown sugar. Flavor is the same. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a spicy mouthfeel. Pretty spicy all the way through, not quite as balanced as it could be.

5000 (6298) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 26, 2013
Bottle:   Deep amber, a little fiery, thin frothy tannish head, little lacing.   Spicy nose, definite cinnamon and nutmeg, along with some ginger and clove.   Plethora of spices on the tongue.   Clove and ginger are a bit stronger here.   Nutmeg and Cinnamon are a bit overshadowed, but come out a bit more after the clove and ginger die down.   This one is pretty tasty, not overdone, but certainly is a spiced kick.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Back of the throat just keeps that clove hanging around.   You want a plethora of spices, this is the beer for you!   Pretty tasty and bright!

draft at Blue Monk, I am not a huge pumpkin fan but this was pretty good. somewhat cloudy burnt orange pour, aromas & flavors of cinnamon, allspice, clove & nutmeg. medium mouthfeel. spice forward but good enough for me

375 ml bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a clear dark amber brown color with a small, disappearing off white head. The aroma and flavor have a bunch of pumpkin spices; nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, sweet honey, pumpkin, mild roast, some ginger, this definitely has more pop than many pumpkin beers, but maybe a bit heavy on the spice for me.
