12oz bottle, Scratch 46. Pours a dark amber color with a white head. Aroma is spicy, Belgian yeast, clove, banana. Medium body with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, fruity, raisin, cherry, banana, clove, with a spicy yeast finish. Interesting beer. I’d put it somewhere between a traditional dubbel and triple.

Scratch 46 - Reddish copper color with a thin white head. Great aroma of sweet fruit and sugar. Taste is not as sweet as the smell, but enjoyed across the palate. Sugar, biscuit, and a slight yeast, spice, alcohol note at the end leading to a dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. This is the Scratch 46 version of the beer. The beer pours an orange-gold color with a white head. The aroma is full of candy sugar and toffee, with some Belgian yeast and some light cherry notes also mixed in. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of toffee and biscuit malt, as well as some nice cherry notes. There is also some candy sugar notes in the flavor, as well as some alcohol. The beer is easy to drink. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

I have had this many times before, this one however is Scratch 46. Served on-tap in the Tasting Room into a Stange glass. A - Pours hazy copper orange with a small half finger tall white head, dissipating down to a light film, leaving spotty lacing down the glass. S - Smells of spicy belgian yeast, biscuity malt, apples, pears, and some light peppery spice. It smells just like Mad Elf, without the sweets and cherries added to it. T - Starts off with a mix of chewy malt and spicy belgian yeast slowly giving way to a mix of apples, pears, candied sugar, and a touch of peppery spice. While it is quite chewy the light sweetness and fruity flavors help to ease its blow on the pallet. The finish is a mix of light spice and chewy malt. I really don’t miss all the flavors they subtract from Mad Elf to get to this point. Very nice. M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Spicy, chewy, feel with plenty of it lingering through the finish. Usually I am not the biggest fan of "chewy" beers but this one is very good. O - I have always liked this beer. It is much easier to drink than Mad Elf and the flavors are just as good. The spicy belgian yeast keeps the pallet guessing and the light fruitiness helps break up all that chewiness. Good stuff.

Tap. Pure white head, hazy brown coppery hue. Vanilla, light fruits, white grape and pear in the aroma. Flavor is a bit sweet, pears, light apple notes, honey, and missing some bitterness. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

12 oz. bottle, labeled as Scratch 46 - Naked Elf. Pours clear, with a brassy, coppery amber hue. A thin head of off-white foam dissipates within seconds, leaving behind a shiny, mirror-like surface with virtually no lace. The nose is based in lightly toasted caramel malt and baking bread dough, with fruity banana esters, hints of marshmallow, and mildly spicy clove. Flavors follow suit, definitely falling on the toasted, caramelly side for a tripel, less focused on candy sugar than the Belgian classics tend to be. Banana bread, dough, and sweet, scorched marshmallow lay the base line, while earthy, peppery clove provides a nice spice component on the back end. The palate feels airy for a tripel, less weighty than most, and enlivened by active, sparkling carbonation. I usually detest triples, but this one puts a spin on the genre that I actually enjoyed. Much better than Mad Elf, and most tripels.

I liked this a lot. Bold aromas of bread, banana, hop and spice. A candy flavor with hints of fruit and spice. Banana is dominant. A lot going on with this one.

Bottle with Joe. Poured a cloudy orange with not much head or lacing. Aromas of vienna malts, orange peel, cherries, caramel, and other spices. Taste is orange floral honey, spicy yeasts, and a faint cherry flavor. Finish/aftertaste leaves an almost cinnamon apple flavor on your tongue. Ultra soft and smooth mouth.
