COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Naked Elf takes a hard look at the less-is-more theory. Ever since we developed The Mad Elf, we’ve speculated what it would taste like without the cherries and honey. So what lies beneath the fruit? Naked Elf is unfiltered, so the spicy yeast taste is more prominent in this strong, hazy orange ale. The combination of the Pilsner, and Vienna malts give a lot of body and minimal sweetness, but Naked Elf has a dry finish. Finally, the heat of the alcohol makes its presence known in the finish. The Naked Elf’s finest quality is the delicate balancing act between a lively yeast kick and a slight alcohol note that lingers in the back of the mouth—constantly reminding us not to overindulge in this complex, warming elixir.

Bottle poured into a Duvel glass. It was a hard pour but I did get a slight white head that disappeared fast. The body of the brew was cloudy amber in color. You get the typical Belgian yeast aroma right up front then some candy sugar and clove with other spices. The flavor is sweet and fruity (Bananas and Apple) upfront as well but the spices come out as it warms. It has a full feel in my mouth with light carbonation. Its is drinkable I would have another but I like the mad elf better Serving type: bottle

Scratch 21... Hazy amber copper with a tiny white head... Sweetish aroma dominated by belgian flavors yeast and caramel malts... Smooth body creamy, with some fruits dominating, yeasty dry complex, nothing really overpowers.. very good, almost better than Mad Elf...

Pretty standard Beklgian actually. I enjoyed it less than the Mad Elf, where the cherry and honey gave it a little more balance. The aroma is spicy, coriander, pepper. The appearance is darked than i expected, slightly less red than the mad Elf. The flavor is pepper, with a surprising caramel sweetness. The finish is spicy, slight hop bittering. Not bad at all, but not great.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a murky amber with off-white head. Aroma is a little odd, spicy, herbal, clove, banana, some bubblegum. Flavor is exactly the same with some maltiness. Mouth feel is light body with high carbonation. Overall, a pretty tasty brew and a interesting one at that.

Bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. Clear amber pour. Sweetness upfront on the pour. Some fruity tart as well, sweetbread also. Dry taste that has a sharp feeling of apple juice. Finishes very bitter dry.
