4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear, medium amber body with little head. Aroma is spicy and hoppy, but fades away too quickly. The first sip is an immediate hit of piney, peppery hops. This is balanced by a thick (but not syrupy), creamy maltiness. The hop profile is really, really pleasing. Plenty powerful but not overkill. Palate is smooth, with a sticky, spicy finish. Super good!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Man… I can’t remember who the heck sent me this not more than a month ago… Maybe zathrus13?? Anyway, Thank You!
A beautiful copper body and a luscious ivory head… coats with heavy sheets of lacing! The aroma is an intense effect of dry hopping… very floral, very clean and fresh, very piney / citric! I totally dig that aroma… it’s a hop tea! The flavor has a nice bready caramel presence and a citric, oily / zesty super dry bittering finish. I have to say… the body seems a bit weak for the intense aroma… and the flavor gives off a slightly astringent feeling about 3 seconds after the beer has been swallowed… it reminds me of overly ripened cumquats that I picked off trees and ate as a kid. Anyhow, I am all about the hugely bright and hoppy aroma!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Big gold-amber pour...big whitish head. Very IPA-like in the nose...citrusy, floral. The bottle says imperial amber....so I was curious if there’d be much difference. Fairly bitter, but with a more pronounced malt presence than say your garden variety IPA. Pretty tasty, but not on par with the best.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle thanks to JHop! Poured dark orange with big and spacious carbonation. Medium foamy head (big bubbles). Lots of citrus hops in the nose, orange mostly with hints of citrus peal. Heavy smelling. The flavor starts with citrus orange hop bitterness that is balanced by moving quickly to a creamy malt body that is also citrus dominated. From there you find a spicy hop finish that is long and bitter. Not too bad. I can see why people like this.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Many thanks go to kramer17801 for this awesome brew! Pours a transparent amber with a bone white head. The aroma is fresh and floral, lots of pine elements as well as some citrus and very light caramel malt. The flavor also holds a fair amount of pine and citrus that is balanced with the light malt, more like a hop massage than a hop punch. Nice body for an IPA, a bit sticky, it’s a bit creamy over the tounge and never feels watery. The finish has a pleasant bitterness to it that sticks around and slowly fades away. This is one well balanced beer overall, it never seems take you over the edge in any one direction, though the hop presence is big enough to know it fits its style.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz. Bottle. Amazing pine and citrus nose with some sweet malt noted. Pour a clear light amber color with a frothy white head and weepy lacing. Great orange and pine flavor with a great malt profile. More flavor than bitterness. The beer has enough bitterness to balance with the malt Great IPA. I would drink a lot of this if I could. I want more.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Clear amber body with a small but dense foamy head. Mild grassy, spicy hop aroma with balancing sugar cookie. Great flavor! Resinous mandarin orange flesh and grapefruit rind hops over a simple light caramel foundation. Velvety mouthfeel. Lasting dry, resinous finish invites you back for another gulp. I say "gulp" because this beer is very clean, has good mouthfeel and just plain tastes good.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Whoa this is hoppy, and heavy malt too. Nice looking beer, clear copper/orange color with a big white head. Smells citrusy- dont get the huge hops in the aroma. Creamy palate, and the flavours (and the bitterness) linger very nicely.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a standard gold beer color with a not so shabby head. Nothing to right home about, but nothing wrong either. The aroma is intense--pungent with hops grapefruit, flowers, and pine stretched out over a big malty frame. In the mouth, this IPA is creamy and smooth with just he appropriate CO2 level. Also a bit sticky. The intensity of the aroma pales in comparison to the flavor. Those same three big hops notes--grapefruit, flowers, and pine--are amplified threefold with an even more irresistable malty sweetness. The lingering bitterness is straight up pine. Pungent, simple, and really drinkable. I usually enjoy complexity in a beer, but I feel this beer to really embody a beautiful simplicity. I could drink a bunch of these at a time--if only the undetectable 7.5% ABV was a few points lower. This sort of intensity is something you expect from Stone--I’m glad to see other brewers are coming to understand the glory of the hop!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle, thank you to kramer17801 for this one! Crystal clear amber w/ a short lived off white head. Initial aroma is grassy, raw, citrusy, grapfruity hops. They must have dry hopped the shit out of this one given the clarity and hop character of this beer!!! Also lightly piney. Also some white grape frutiness, like white grape juice aroma. Some very lightly toasty malt; no caramel. Well balanced flavor between hops and malt for the most part. A bit of bitterness in the finish, and bready malt flavor mid palate. Finishes w/a lightly herbal/spicy hop flavor and hints of caramel. Smooth m/f, alcohol is barely noticeable, medium bodied. Nice for what it is. A nicely flavored IPA with great bitterness and malt flavor once it warms. Chilled it’s pretty one dimensional, then again, most beers are. But once warmed, it gains a bit of malt complexity that makes it much more enjoyable...Beyond the grassy hop flavor/aroma...
