jimhilt (1662), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Mar 28, 2009 Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly, leaving a good lace. Nice crystal clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Piney nose. Flavor is piney hops, grapefruit but some sweetness, this imperial pale has 93 IBUs but it is nearly balanced with the malt making it much better than the usual pale. $6.20 for a 22oz bottle from Colonial Spirits Acton, Ma. inkubus27 (237), Highland, Indiana, USA Mar 27, 2009 This is one of the best IPA’s I’ve had to date. Aroma of grapefruit, melon, citrus and a little hint of malt. A nice bitterness throughout with all the citrus flavors of the aroma, balanced by a thinner body. These go down way too easily. Thanks to abcfan for hooking me up with these every year! hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 22, 2009 Bomber. Orange/amber pour with soapy white head. Great Lace. Mango, orange and some pine on the nose. Not as bitter as I was expecting, very well balanced. Citrus on the front end in the flavor profile with the hops bringing up the rear. Medium mouthfeel. Mildly bitter and sweet finish. Nice. McGrupp612 (26), hamburg, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 21, 2009 Super sexy beer. Wonderful amber color with a fluffy off-white head. The hops are more assertive in the flavor and aroma than in the bitterness. Nice malt back bone. rmussman (905), California, USA Mar 21, 2009 Sampled in Lexington, Va. Has a big aroma and hoppy tastes. Malts are pretty strong. Goes down pretty smooth. This is a very quality brew. grandridge (222), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Mar 20, 2009 Bomber pours a transparent golden amber with a slight white head. Aroma is fragrant hops, grapefruit, and pine predominant but some slight floral notes as well. Mouthfeel is medium bodiedlight carbonation and sticky and slight oil finish. Hops is the boss in this brew. It seems at peace with the bitterness, a nice balance exists between hops and alcohol. (7.5% = 93 IBUs) There is a slight malt backbone, but lets not get picky IPAs are about the hops and this one packs hop flavor. This brew is highly drinkable and a great representation of what an IPA should taste like. sloth (1657), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Mar 19, 2009 Small tan head, retention is fair, lacing is somewhat coating and sticky. Clear light amber hued ale. Nose is welcoming with pine, lesser grapefruit and faint malt notes. Body is medium and a touch resiny, lightly oily. Nice hop flavors backed by some lightly sweet malt notes, berrys and some earthyness as well. An almost dry under bittered finish. I know i,ve rated this before, last year i do believe? Had it on tap at home along with several cases i,d gone through. Not sure where the rating went but i do believe it,s gettin a lower score this time. Probably closer to what it really deserves IMHO. Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Mar 19, 2009 Tap and bottle. Poured hazy amber with a fluffy off white head. Aroma of pine and citrus. Great hop flavor. Easy drinking. Medium bodied.
