Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Tröegs’ newest single batch brew, Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

While the brewery considers this an "Imperial Amber Ale" RateBeer considers it an IPA due to the hopping rate. There is no need to send any other corrections on the style.

12oz bottle from the Foodery. Pours a brilliant copper color with a one inch white head. Hop aroma dominates and is evident a foot away from the glass. Nice hop flavor up front, but gives way to a body that is much thinner than i expected. hop flavors lingered on my palate for a while.

pours with a dark yellow, almost orange color. has a sweet piney aroma. nice crisp smooth taste. a bit of bitter that is made all the better by the slight alcohol taste.

Piney like a Christmas tree. Bitter hop bite with a slightly sweet finish. ABV tasted higher than I thought it would have, alcohol added to the sweet spice flavor. Very good.

(Bottle via trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) Pours a little hazy, yellowish-orange with a frothy off-white head. Aroma of pine. Mouthfeel very smooth, almost slick, a bit prickly. Sloppy spots of lacing. Flavor is mostly pine and a bit of fruitiness with a moderate bitterness overlaying. There is malt in there but I could almost "feel" it more than taste it. Finishes smooth, a little bitter. Good.

Clear orange colour with a small dense white head. Hoppy aroma with floral and pine notes and some pineapple fruityness along a balanced malty sweetness. Hoppy pineapple fruity flavor with a light malty sweetness. Dry finish with pine notes. Thanx to sk8viking for this one.

This one was worth the searching. Hoppy piney aroma folowed by a malty, fruity flavor balanced not overpowered by the bitterness.

Bottled. Beer is a clear, medium-caramel color with a small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing head. The aroma is as billed. Malty with a light note of toasted grain, cookie and caramel; Heavily hoppy with obviously bitter notes of sticky resin/pine, dried apricot, light note of cedar; Yeasty with a light note of dough, trace cheesey. The flavor is heavily bitter, moderately sweet with a long, moderately bittersweet finish. The body is medium, the texture is watery-to-velvety and the carbonation is fizzy.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2008 Cask at Barcade. Wow... this smells incredible. Rich fruity aroma, peach, berry and a soft pininess as well. Soft bready malts and a light fruitiness on the back. Juicy tropical fruit and light pine. Excellent balance of soft lightly wheaty malts and juicy, juicy hops. Thanks EDA for this one! Tap as Spuyten Duyvil. Clear golden beer, thick white creamy head. Aroma is very fruity with strong blackberry/cherry aroma, herbal hops and enough pale malt to back it up. Some faint grassiness. Flavour is moderately hoppy, fruity blackberry with some earthy and grassy notes throughout. Fairly lean-bodied, but is well balanced nonetheless. 3 7 6 3 13
