No need to repeat the hundreds of other reviews, other than to point out this is just a great example of the style. beerater (16), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Has a smooth and slightly sweet taste that complements a big creamy smooth dose of hops. They call it an Imperial amber, which I think gives a pretty good description. I’ll bet this beer costs alot to brew and it shows. If you like IPA’s, you’re going to like this beer. I drank it (and the five others) out of a frozen pint glass. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2009 12 oz bottle brought over from the east coast to be consumed by me in San Fran. Probably the most disappointed I’ve ever been by a beer, this one had been getting hyped up all over RB and BA and it just didn’t live up to it for me. Messy pine aroma, it smells somehow sticky if that even makes sense. Strange earth and pine flavor with a citrus bite that makes it too sweet for my tastes. Hopefully I’ll get another chance at this sometime to see if my opinion changes. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Pour is a clean, clear and under control amber color. Aroma is a wonderful perfume of oily citrus, flowers and all wonderful things hoppy. Flavor is a smooth, smooth smooth rich malt flavor mingling with a slightly bitter viscous end. The aftertaste is a nice fuller malt taste with just a little bit of citrus hiding behind. Wonderfully drinkable IPA. gpekar (223), Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Poured a crystal clear amber with a light amount of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. There was a nice foamy, off-white head. There was a strong pine aroma and also the scent of a freshly cut grapefruit. The initial taste was a strong, dry, crisp bite followed by a nice smoothness and finished again with a good hop bitterness. The sensation on the palate was that bitterness from eating a grapefruit and the aroma of pine was still able to be detected from your mouth Petrucci914 (578), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a copper color with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves lots of stickky lacing on the glass. Aroma is grapefruit, mango, pine, and a bit of nuttiness. Taste is citrus grapefruit with some nice caramel malts and almond nuttiness. Very well balanced, smooth. Juelze (895), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a deep amber hue with thin offwhite head that fades quickly leaving globs of lacing on the glas.. Aroma is of intense citrus if some pine and grapefruit. Mild malt notes and caramel also waft up the nose. Taste is light citrus and grapefruit with mild caramel. Easy drinking as hell and very well balanced. Delicious!
