COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Tröegs’ newest single batch brew, Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

While the brewery considers this an "Imperial Amber Ale" RateBeer considers it an IPA due to the hopping rate. There is no need to send any other corrections on the style.

Cask pour into shaker pint glass at Jimmy’s Culpeppers. Aroma is strong herbal and citrusy hops. Appearance is clear amber with finger-width white foamy head with fair retention, decent lacing, fair sparkle. Taste is strong herbal over citrus hops, dominant over malt backbone, well balanced mix of bitter and sweet. Palate is medium bodied with lively carbonation but in an appropriate, refreshing way, crisp lightly bitter finish. Overall, a more flavorful than bitter IPA with a nice refreshing quality.

Draught @ Top Hops. Copper red with large off-white foamy head, caramel aroma, medium carbonation, lavender flavored slightly bitter caramel taste, thin, smooth body, long bitter caramel finish. I did note feel it like an IPA at all.

Pours clear Amber with an ample finely foamed off white head. Aroma is nicely balanced; tangy. Notes of caramel malt and bright sweet citrus fruit. Taste brings forth piney cascade hops, with less fruit but a decent malt backbone. Slight tart and astringent. Bitter finish and aftertaste. A very good IPA.

Turboninja (493) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 21, 2016
Bottle@home, from Wine Spot, Cleveland, USA. Strong pungent aroma of slightly sweet red berries and fruits. Amber/golden color with small white head and clear liquid. Medium/strong taste of slightly sour, over aged berries, hops and some malts. Slightly unbalanced with medium/wide taste spectrum and long hoppy and fruity aftertaste. Medium/light body with medium carbonation. Overall, bold though bit stale. A bit more red berries and this would be a very good imperial amber ale.
