Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Tröegs’ newest single batch brew, Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

While the brewery considers this an "Imperial Amber Ale" RateBeer considers it an IPA due to the hopping rate. There is no need to send any other corrections on the style.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2015 BIF project. Burnt orange pour. Big caramel malt sweetness immediately giving easy to a huge candied citrus rind hoppy aroma. Nicely balanced with some resin and floral hop bitterness. Smooth. Very good IPA.

Tastes like it was already ingested and then ass pissed back into the bottle. It makes Coors light taste like heaven!

16 oz can. Very fresh: a Feb. 2015 canning date on the bottom. Very hoppy aroma. I could smell hops right after popping the top on the can a good two feet from my nose. The hoppy aroma strengthened when decanted into my nonic glass. Just as impressive, the fine appearance, with a deep, clear amber body topped by an especially creamy tan head, The head had excellent retention and coated the glass with nice lacing patterns. The flavor is less bitter and less hoppy than the aroma suggests. This drinks like a highly aromatic, relatively malty APA, although the bitterness and hoppiness build a bit in the aftertaste, suggesting a mild-to-moderate IPA. Feel: excellent, with medium+ soft carbonation in a medium body.Dry finish. O

Great beer from a great brewery. Really hopped up hops and heady taste. Explosive IPA with a great aftertaste and smooth finish.

16oz can pours an amber color with a bit of head. Hop profile balances nicely against the malt. Lots of malt.

Floral nose, ruby orange light bodied beer. Astringent almost rye flavor from this hops blend. Bitter finish.

Delicious sweet hop aromas. Very clear Amber light head. Hoppy but ballanced fragrance of the hops last. Sticky that Drys out nicely.

12oz bottle from The Beer Store Wilson. Reddish/dark orange hue with mostly diminishing off-white head. Good lacing. Sweet floral and orange hop aromas. Sweet floral taste up front with more of a citrus hop finish. Fizzy carbonation on the palate.

An old style American amber with a bunch more hops on the end. This style is just not enjoyable to me at all. These hops don’t go well with all the damn sweetness in the beer. It is just clashing. No clue at all why this beer gets the ratings it does.
