It pours and orange/amber clear colour with a microbubble, white head that retains well and leaves rings of lace. The flavour is intensely hoppy with a spicy, citric and piney hop flavour that refreshes like no other. The carbonation is ample yet gentle and perfectly matched for the beer’s medium, airy textured. A near perfect IPA! emerica56 (579), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Wow what an amazing look this beer has. Pours a clear amber color with a thick head and leaves long streaks of laceing down the side of the glass. The head was well maintained since it was from a growler and the carbonation is not the same for each pour. The aroma was of strong bitter hops and hints of honey. As you sip on the brew you can really taste the acity given off from the nugget hops that were used. It is also filled with rich caramel malt and a mix of amber malt. the finish is just as bitter as the first sip. the head also last the entire duration of the beer. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA

Nose reminds me of a bowl of tropical fruits with a little hops mixed in. Awesome citrus fruit flavor with some great hops to round it out. A little dry on the finish but definitely delicious. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 16, 2008 Not a bad brew by any means, it just seems like I’ve had it 100 times before. Nice hop profile with citrus fruits. Perhaps a little more hopped then your standard good IPA. Malt backbone supports the hops nicely. Pours a completely translucent amber color. Quite good on the palate, not too watery and not like syrup. Overall an IPA that is quite good, just doesn’t stick out in my mind as one of the best. cathcacr (588), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2008 Bottle. Huge hop aroma, lightly citric but hugely aggressive, and features all the hops I know so little about (Nuggest, Warrior, and Tomahawk). Not quite lychee, not quite pine, but unmistakably hop drenched. And a slight off-note of nail-polish. Orange pour, clear with light carbonation and a soapy beige head.
Bitter, exotic fruit taste, slightly soapy with rind-scrapings from pomegranate and mango. Touch of pineapple. Medium body feels just a bit lighter, with a dry aftertaste and just a little bit of grit on the tongue. This is clearly well-made, but I can’t give massive points for a flavor I don’t particularly like. An interesting hop experience (experiment?), but not really mind-blowing and not really suitable for everyday drinking. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 14, 2008 Bottle courtesy JB175 - thanks a bunch! Pours a classic amber color with a thick, bubbly head that leaves an abundance of lacing...great appearance! Aroma is sweet hops...lots of citrus in there, in particular grapefruit, with some piney/resiny hops in there as well...good complexity and the sweetness makes it very pleasant. Flavor is very good...the bittering hops are there with lots of lemon/grapefruit flavor, but there’s some good malt in there to keep the hops honest. The bitterness on the after palate is countered with a slight bit of sweetness as well, again, helping to keep a super-hopped beer in check. This was my first experience with Troegs, and seeing as I really enjoyed their IPA, I hope it isn’t my last! MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

Grapefruit and pine. Juicy. Just like I like my IPAs. Flavor is a big blast of grapefruity hops. Light sweetness. Bitter but not overly so. Well balanced. Very nice. Yum.
