Mar 8, 2008 [Bottle, thanks a lot Stine!] Pours dark golden with a small off-white head. Aroma is really fruity with a lot of tangerine, maybe some mandarin orange and a hint of mango. Really nice. Taste is not nearly as good. Very malt dominant up front and in the finish with light hoppy bitterness in between. Really nice aroma on this beer, but the taste was pretty plain.

Mar 8, 2008 I was quite taken with the aroma--the use an interesting blend of hops gives it a quality separate from the main pine/grapefruit IPA varieties. I agreed with others that there was a tangerine-like note to it; definitely citrus. The flavor was less remarkable, having a hop note but plain malt base without quite the touch of sweetness that often works in a double IPA--the bottle here said "Imperial Amber" so I don’t think that expectation was too much. A bit limp for a palate. Overall, interesting, esp. for its aroma, and worth picking up if you see a single. Thanks for sharing, Minnesota raters!

Mar 5, 2008 Nice clear amber pour with white head. Again, I have to say I like Troegs and I have had other IPAs and enjoyed but no way did I like this. Horrible, like I got a snoot full of citric acid and a mouth full of pine needles and pine cone soap. Those who are hopheads will be chocking themselves to get a drop of this and I say have at it. Just keep it the hell away from me!

Mar 5, 2008 This is like a hopslam on valium. Thanks to my secret bunny for this. Clear amber with 2 finger white head and some nice lacing. Citrus hop aroma. Slightly malty with piney hops. Wonderful peach like finish.

Mar 4, 2008 thin film of a head laces on the side. Aroma to match the hop blend a little mild with fructose nose. Nice bite and a rather smooth finish for the amount of hops. Good bit a bit one dimentional,there are better super hop beers out there.

Mar 3, 2008 I can drink this beer all day long. This is truely an all day drinker for me. I say the same about the Hopslam, but this one won’t have you hammered after four of them. Aroma and taste is sweet pine and tangy hops. The pour is amber with a nice white head. This is my favorite Troegs beer so far. Bring on a case!!!
