Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Feb 14, 2008 Beautiful copper pour. Frothy head. Aroma of hops and light malt aroma. Tastes starts off lightly sweet of citrus fruits. Finishes with a hop bitterness. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Feb 14, 2008 12oz thanks beastiefan2k - Now this is what I’m talking about! Aroma is strong pine tar hops with caramel and crystal malts fighting for attention. Pours transparent copper with a small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with the piney hops adding a chewy earthy quality in the finish. Palate is sticky and tart. Very tasty if you like hops. zoso3303 (1), Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Feb 13, 2008 medium body, spruce, citrus, caramel, resin, leaves, oily feel, soft carbonation, long finish, sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 13, 2008 Copper pour with a frothy off-white head. Pine/grapefruit/floral hop aroma. Flavor initially sharp, marked by pine and grapefruit hops. After a bit it comes across as more orangey with a smooth and even tea-leaf hop bitterness. Nicely put together east coast IPA. abcfan (244), New Jersey, USA Feb 13, 2008 Pours an amber-orange color with a crisp white head. Nose is a citrus-piney aroma. Taste is totally dominated by hops and is very drinkable. Finishes with a hint of orange and hops. Great brew! Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 13, 2008 Updated: Mar 2, 2008Pours a clear and bright orange-amber color with a small head that has a tint of rust. Nose of floral and piney hops with honey. Bitter hits you in the face and stays there. A lot of earthy flavors with pine and grapefruit rinds. A little bit of caramel, brown sugar, and toffee. I know my first rating of this said that it wasn’t well balanced, but I think I was in a hop-hating mood the night I drank it. This is beautifully balanced and a really delicious beer. lethe (168), Stony Brook by way of Cincinnati, New York, USA Feb 12, 2008 Amber-colored pour has an intensely hoppy nose with lively resin and citrus. Palate is smooth with lively carbonation. Flavor is basically a hop showcase with many nice pine and citrus notes. The finish is mouth-puckering and dry in a testament to the ibu level. Somehow this seems balanced and is incredibly drinkable, even though the hops totally dominate. I am glad I sought this one out. danhitch (17), USA Feb 11, 2008 Poured a very orange color with a nice slightly off-white head. The smell was very fruity with a bit of alcohol. The taste was very nice. Pineapple and citrus were the first flavors coming through. As the beer warmed up, the malt came through a lot more and had a distinct biscuity taste. Very smooth and delicious beer. I wish it wasn’t so hard to get a hold of!
