masonjer (555), Holt, Michigan, USA Jul 30, 2007 Pours orange red out of the bottle. Smells very nice, classic red ale fuses with a nice IPA. Taste is incredibly balanced. Nice malt backbone blended with citrusy hops, finishing with a nice hop bite. This is not a super crazy hopped beer, but it is a very enjoyable brew. Wish I had another bottle. mnicole (15), asheville, North Carolina, USA Jul 27, 2007 pours a cloudy golden color. a nice citrus hoppy aroma. sweet on front with a bitter finish. a nice crisp refreshing brew. Boutip (2330), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 27, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Sammy: Poured a deep amber/orangey color ale with nice foamy head with some good retention and light lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is well balance with some malt. Taste is a good enough mix between some semi-sweet malt and some citrus and bitter hops. Full body with some medium carbonation. Overall, while I thought this was interesting beer, I still think it lack some hops to make this as hoppy as they claim it is. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Jul 26, 2007 poured into a tulip. pours a golden cloudy amber. very fresh citrus/hoppy aroma. citrussy hoppiness, sweet and light on the palate with a mild bitter finish. great balance between sweet citrus and hoppy bitter, very good stuff. sweet on the front, bitter on the finish, with a great transition in the middle. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 18, 2007 Thanks MP! Dark golden copper with medium head. Beautiful floral citrus aroma. Good IPA with lots of hops, but balanced just enough. Bitter finish. melvin980 (184), Pennsylvania, USA Jul 13, 2007 Not as good as I heard everyone say it was. A bit of a dissapointment. Not my favorite ipa, although it does claim to be an "Imperial Amber Ale" on the label. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 8, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a clear copper body with a thick creamy off-white head. Aroma of orange, peach, pineapple, caramel and grapefruit. Flavor of toasted malt, citrusy hops, and caramel. jlf278 (250), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jun 28, 2007 12 oz., delicious honey, floral hoppy, grapefruity aroma. Color is light yellow, not so great looking, head is meager. Body is very frothy in your mouth and hides any abrasive nature. As carbonation subsides, you find a slightly wet, medium body. First touch of the tongue reveals sweet honey. Tastes very much of grapefruit with some sourness accompanying the bitter finish. The bitterness has some mild off taste and sticks around a long time. Better off with lagunitas, dfh or hopdevil IPAs
