This beer was sampled on tap at the Bocktown in Robinson.
For an IPA this was a little less than I expected, son.
A color that is just a bit darker than pale yellow.
Has a slightly strong aroma quite similar to B-O!
The taste has a strong hoppy impact.
But not like the typical IPA compact.
The hops develop in the front of your mouth.
In the back of the throat the hops are without!
It lacks the back of the throat hop bitterness.
It makes this brew enjoyable none the less.
I taste and can like the character of this Indian pale ale.
It is enjoyable without the insulting hurricane gale.
The finish is so odd for an IPA beer.
There is no back of throat bitterness, how queer!
Probably the best of this style I think so far.
My feeling of IPA has been set ajar.
SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA May 1, 2007 This clear, medium amber colored brew throws up a huge, creamy, off-white head that lasts long enough to coat the sides of the glass as the level of the beer goes down through the sampling.
The aroma is nicely mixed with nutty caramel malt and bready-cookie notes.
A bit more malty than the usual IPA, this one can pull off being a malty IPA or a hoppy Amber ale. Dangerously easy drinker that I would gladly drink more of if it were readily available here. WeeHeavySD (2932), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Apr 30, 2007 12 oz bottle, i think this one came from JB175. This is what I call the bonus king of bonus beers. I have recieved this as a bonus at least 5 times, and I thought I may as well rate it now and see if the trend continues. Pours yellow with a one finger pale white head. Aroma is dry and hoppy with not much in the way of west coast pine or any citrus. The taste is sweet, sharp and very drinkable. The softness and smooth silkiness of the palate is really a nice touch. Good work Troeg brothers. elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Apr 29, 2007 bottle. slight murky golden color. hops in aroma. also hops in taste. some spicyness ans niceness. henrikb (1298), Aarhus, Denmark Apr 29, 2007 Beautiful red amber body with a creamy off-white head, some lacing; Beautiful big deep hoppy sweet very US-style IPA nose; The body is soft but lack a bit of fill, big soft carbonation; Bitter fresh on a soft texture, has some length but i quite 1-dimensional. Very drinkable but a bit off balanced with its soft texture in the mouth and quite bitter dry finish. Thanks hopscotch! stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Apr 25, 2007 Clear light amber. Small white fluffy head. Good hoppy aroma. Nice body that is creamy with a mild hop taste that is nice and fades well without being superhoppy. Refreshing. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Apr 23, 2007 Bottled. Hazy amber coloured with a rather large off-white head. A bit too high carbonated with notes of caramel, malt, hops, pines and citrus. punkrkr27 (606), Berkley, Michigan, USA Apr 21, 2007 Bottle thanks to jasonmech77. Clear deep gold pour with a small white head. Honey and caramel malt aroma with loads of juicy grapefruit hops and some peach. Chewy caramel malt flavor with a solid balance of pine and citrus bitterness. Medium body.
