JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium May 31, 2009 Cheers to my neighbor Matt. Bottle pours reddish-orange, bright, with orange-tinted and thick frothy head. Very fruity nose like sweet mandarine and pineapple. Tastes fairly juicy-sweet before rolling into a serious, sticky, long-lasting bitterness. Like candy for hopheads, I guess. Great juicy aroma but suffers from a tongue-coating lack of drinkability after about half a glass. beernbourbon (228), chicago, Illinois, USA May 28, 2009 Thanks to jason/CaptainCougar for this one. Pour is clear amber color with a minimal off-white head. Aroma is gigantic hop, mostly pine. A touch of caramel malt on back end. Flavor is more malty than nose led me to believe. Hops are more evident shortly after malt kick and linger. Finish is piney hop and cinnabon. Certainly well balanced, I find myself chugging this one. Maddog (230), Kettering, Ohio, USA May 28, 2009 This is one fantastic beer. Had on draft at Station 1 in Springfield, OH. Pours a clear amber with an aroma of fruit and hops. It is a great tasing beer with fruit, malt and an abundance of citrus hops. This IPA is rather balanced. There is not a lot of bitterness, but the flavor hops really exert themselves and create a wonderful beer. manuchampions (95), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 23, 2009 12oz bottle. Lovely aroma on opening. Pours a light amber with a thin head with good lacing. Sweet, bitter hop aroma. Wonderfully balanced hop/malt profile with biting west coast hops lingering after a crisp malt backing. Solid offering and very drinkable. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA May 23, 2009 Clear deep amber color with a foamy lasting head. Nutty caramel malt is nearly overpowered by the floral and citrus hops in the aroma and flavor. Well carbonated, lively on the palate. Among the better IPA’s. Very good stuff! tagz (334), USA May 9, 2009 bottle. clear orange, fluffy white head. huge hop nose, less on the bitter side than i expected. the hop flavor is interesting. a strong tangerine taste to it. definitely one to try but this one is almost too fragrant. hop back is more likely the one i would have again. juiceisloose (633), Windermere, Florida, USA May 9, 2009 Updated: Oct 6, 2009Pours a mostly clear dark orange color with a small, foamy cream colored head. The head recedes slowly leaving nice sheets of lacing behind in its wake. The aroma is very hoppy with floral and piney hops dominating with a hint of the sweet toffee and caramel malt in the background. The flavor follows suit with the floral and piney hop bitterness taking center stage, but are balanced out quite nicely by the creamy caramel malts. Medium bodied and smooth mouthfeel with good carbonation leading to a sweet and slightly bitter finish. Really great flavor in this beer. This is a great IPA, and one that would be a go to beer if I could get it regularly. BeerBaby (62), , Tennessee, USA May 8, 2009 Creamy head, honey colored clear body that is light and well carbonated. Taste gets better when left to sit for a bit, bringing out a hint of a caramel flavor over the citrus taste. Well balanced. I found it very drinkable.
