Small can shared at the hotel. Pours a clear strong golden with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of pine, alcohol and citrus. Taste is moderately sweet and bitter offers caramel, bread and fruity flavors. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and alcohol is felt a little bit. Old school but still pretty nice.

can. clear copper orange with a small creamy white cap offering good retention and creamy lacing. orange spiciness, peppery mangoes, american C reminiscence, toasted doughy spicy maltiness, very clean - almost lager-like. moderate carbonation, light body - oily; smooth and balanced earthy-spicy-citrusy finish. surprisingly.. american. good harvest hoppy amber.

Can, into a Belgian ale glass. An impressive effort by Tro(funny stuff)egs. I’m sure they’re aware that our keyboards don’t support the umlaut. I guess it gives them some teutonic cred? Anyway, a fine brew. Pours amber, with a decent head. Fruity and hoppy aroma is followed by a similar taste, with a mildly bitter finish. A superbly crafted beer with a remarkable balance. Well, this goes on my list of go to brews, except that as a seasonal it commands a higher price (at least locally) than my other tried and true regular IPA’s. Good effort from the umlaut brewery.

Love me some Nugget Nectar! Every year it does not disappoint! Great job Troegs, with both the delicious brew, and the new label design.

Sample from HO1K. Pours a light caramel brown with a thin off-white ring. Pleasant semi sweet aroma that isn’t too powerful. Starts out smooth but has a harsh finish. Reminds me of Great Lakes Nosferatu. Not bad but could have been balanced better for me to enjoy it more.

Clear copper pour with a soapy white head and sticky lacing ..... Aroma of floral, earthy and citrusy hops with rindy grapefruit zest and mango also has biscuity malt ... Taste is of citrusy hops, light lemon, mango, orange and grapefruit with a zesty and rindy hop bite .... Has floral and earthy hop flavors as well ..... Had a biscuity malt backbone ..... Finish is dry with malty and lingering orange .... Mouthfeel is moderately bitter ... body is medium .... Sessionable and tasty but Overrated and overpriced

Very good, slightly sweet red ale. It starts out with a sweet, mouth filling hop tastes. The bitterness builds on the palate and a nice soft burn is left on the gums. I like that the hoppiness is mellow and fades at just the right speed

Near perfect blend of malt and hop. Great IPA’s and amber ales are not created by the hops, but rather by how the complimentary malt bill works with the big hops. Troegs nailed it with this one.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pale golden, crystal clear, low pillowy head. Aroma grapefruit, lemon zest and light herbal notes. Palate watery, carbonation medium. Taste tropical fruit, green apples, grapes. Balanced bitter finish. No long lasting or characteristic bitterness. Balanced. Pretty mild, pretty decent. Like 5 am, aroma is richer than taste.
