COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Squeeze those hops for all they’re worth and prepare to pucker up: Tröegs’ newest single batch brew, Nugget Nectar Ale, will take hopheads to nirvana with a heady collection of Nugget, Warrior and Tomahawk hops. Starting with the same base ingredients of our flagship HopBack Amber Ale, Nugget Nectar intensifies the malt and hop flavors to create an explosive hop experience.

While the brewery considers this an "Imperial Amber Ale" RateBeer considers it an IPA due to the hopping rate. There is no need to send any other corrections on the style.

An orange beer with a thick white head. The aroma is lovely hoppy and grassy. While the flavor is a dry hoppy and grassy on a malt and caramel background. The after taste is good with lots of hops, but I find the flavor in general a bit light, and also the body a bit light inspite of the 7.5% ABV.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2011 Golden colored with a big white head. Flowery aroma, taste of smooth hops, bot overwhelming as in many American IPAs. Some citrus and raisins in the background, nice bitter finish. Top notch IPA. 4.0 Boy, this is great stuff on cask! Better aroma, same incredible taste.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2010 On cask at Barcade. Poured a nice orange hue with a fluffy white head. Strong hop aroma of pine and citrus. Tasted amazing. Only slightly carbonated, the beer possessed the hop bite I expected along with a citrus juiciness which I had not. Sweet and lip-smacking. I look forward to another round of this. Update: Had a bottle tonight, atop the roofdeck of my apartment building. Believe it or not, Nugget Nectar may be better still with a setting sun in the distance and light breeze upon the face. To the deScription above, I would add that there is some definite breadiness in the latter stages of the flavor. This is just great stuff.
