Clear copper in color, with a lovely sticky off-white head. Really wonderfully balanced flavor: Tons of those fruity hops, of course, but they’re backed by a nice sweet, but not cloying, malty backbone. Up there with the better double IPAs, for me. Poured without much head cold. I’ve had this on cask and it’s just sublime! A must for any fan of hops. (Wife’s taste test review - "Flowers!!") shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 29, 2009 12oz bottle fresh. Pours a clear orange amber with a thin spotty head. honestly not very attractive for such a high quality brew. Aroma is a complete 180 - fresh, in my face hops that are resiny and piney. Really enticing. Flavors are also popping with freshness and chewy hops. There is just enough sweet malt to keep it balanced, but this is a portrait of hoppy ecstasy. sethdude (611), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Pours a nice amber color with a medium head, good lacing. Aroma is pure hops, like I just rubbed fresh hops in my hands. Stunning grapefruit and pine bouquet, I wish they made air freshener that smelled like this. Flavor is sharp and piney, but still makes some attempt at co-mingling flavor (I wouldn’t try to call it balance, per se), some warm malts accent the hops well. Lots of citrus, and a lingering, grassy finish. Pretty amazing, if not somewhat one-sided. fly (1334), austin, Tejas, USA

Once the last sips of the bottle I have remaining are gone I will be pining for another. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA

Shiny golden-orange body with moderate visible carbonation and a pillowy, slightly sandy hued head. Awesome hop profile in the aroma with notes of papaya and other tropical fruits, grapefruit, and cedar. Light honey tones reside underneath. Flavor provides a fresh, mega hoppy fix with a coarse, lacerative finish and a lingering woody and spicy hop aftertaste. Quite drying, like sucking on wood chips. Plenty of co-humulogoodness here. Beware... this is not your girly Simcoe IPA. Leaves the palate feeling like it was worked over with steelwool, which is exactly what I want from an IPA. Cornboy (418), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 8, 2006 Troegs has a winner with this brew for sure, no idea why they waited so long to bottle this beauty, but glad its here now. Pours amber with a nice frothy head, hops hops hops hit your nose. Noticible sweetness in the aroma as well of caramel and some citrus fruit. Superb combo of hops, very distinct taste from the hops but the malt kicks in halfway to balance the experience. Not overly strong in abv makes it easier to quaff. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Pours a clean copper orange body with a thick off-white foam. Nose is hoppy and somewhat vegatable-like. Full bodied with flavors of bitter earthy hops with some bread, horseblanket, and tomato guts. All of that said...I really dig this beer.
