COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Dark, thick, bitter, but every man should try it once.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2005 (1/17/05) Small brown head atop red-tinged black body. Aroma is not very strong, coffee, chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, roasty, some chocolate. Fairly smooth medium body. Definitely not as good as in past years. (6/3/6/4/12). (2/8/02) Nice dark good-headed roasted-malty hint-of-coffee smooth well-rounded stout. (7/4/8/4/15).

I had this beer on draft; it poured very nicely into the glass with a dark rich color and amber head. Had a hint of choclate in the taste and went down very well. If you are able to give this stout a try.

Opaque, black with a brown head, mild lacing, exuding a roasty, almost ashy, hops, chocolate, caramel, and hay nose. Full-bodied with moderate-to-light carbonation, the burnt, bitter finish hits you before you experience the roasted black coffee graininess that comprises the flavor. Quite bold and bitter, with little hop flavoring, this is rather enjoyable, but would benefit from a boost in the malt presence and an injection of subtle chocolate highlights...

Nice aroma, roasted taste, a little too much bitterness, could have been sweeter. Got much better as it warmed. Overall, pretty decent beer.

Roasty and smooth - very nice stout with good aroma and aftertaste.

Roasty and Toasty, but I was yearning for a little more. Maybe a more frothy head. Maybe a little more of a malty body. Can’t put the finger quite on it; I’ll have to sample a few more first. Maybe I’m judging Troegs a little harder than others; I’m hard on those I respect.
