3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, hops, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and grapefruit, leading to a dry roasted end with notes of oatmeal lingering around. The body is a bit on the thin side inspite of the 6.8% ABV and the oatmeal.

Dark black pour with a tan head. Rich, creamy stout. Regular stouts that aren’t imperial don’t get much better than this. Rated 5/13/04

Black, whispy tan head, odorless and flavorless, touch of grain bitterness in the finish, smooth body,
it almost has a roasted aroma this time, still no flavor other than a bitter black patent character, a 7% ’troegs winter oatmeal stout’ ranks highly on ba.com, this must be a different beer
Score: 2.0 to 3.1
dry roasted malt aroma with a light dark fruit character,
rich chocolate flavor with light roasted, stays very dry between the roast and light hops,

This beer rocks!
Damn fine stout.
Pours black as Hell. Crimson-colored ale is revealed when held up to a high-powered halogen lamp. Medium-sized, frothy, well-tanned head leaves ink-blot lacing.
Robust nose with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, buttermilk and smoke.
Well-bittered brew. Espresso and dark chocolate flavors with some tongue-numbing bitterness.
Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Long, dry, astingent and grassy finish. World class brew!
