COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
TASTING NOTES Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is our interpretation of the classic dry stout style. Dark and creamy with hints of chocolate and black currants, our Oatmeal Stout includes a healthy dose of Centennial and Chinook hops creating a unique stout perfect for the late Fall and Winter.

FOOD COMPLEMENTS With a full-bodied, creamy finish, Tröegs Oatmeal Stout is best with desserts; it is the perfect companion to dark chocolates, cocoa-based treats, caramels, peanut butter desserts and vanilla ice cream.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, hops, and coffee. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, as well as lighter notes of alcohol and grapefruit, leading to a dry roasted end with notes of oatmeal lingering around. The body is a bit on the thin side inspite of the 6.8% ABV and the oatmeal.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2005 (1/17/05) Small brown head atop red-tinged black body. Aroma is not very strong, coffee, chocolate. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, roasty, some chocolate. Fairly smooth medium body. Definitely not as good as in past years. (6/3/6/4/12). (2/8/02) Nice dark good-headed roasted-malty hint-of-coffee smooth well-rounded stout. (7/4/8/4/15).

This beer rocks! Damn fine stout. Pours black as Hell. Crimson-colored ale is revealed when held up to a high-powered halogen lamp. Medium-sized, frothy, well-tanned head leaves ink-blot lacing. Robust nose with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, buttermilk and smoke. Well-bittered brew. Espresso and dark chocolate flavors with some tongue-numbing bitterness. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Long, dry, astingent and grassy finish. World class brew!

On tap at the Lehigh Valley Brew Fest ’04. Poured a dark brown color with an off white head. Aroma and tastes of roasted malts, chocolate and coffee. Typical sweet stout - not bad nor undrinkable…
