4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 brendaniel (55) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 24, 2010
Poured a bright, clear yellow with minimal head and some lacing. Aromas were mild - mostly hops and some pine. Flavor was a great balance between the hops and malt - light in body and a clean, crisp finish. A very simple but great session beer.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 sailracer (190) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 18, 2010
This beer was a deeper yellow than I was expecting. The aroma was strong on hops as well as the aftertaste. There was a hint of sweetness in the initial taste that faded as the hop bitterness took over. Overall, pretty good.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Boliv (964) - New York, USA - JUL 14, 2010
Bottle. Looks light orange and gold with a small frothy white head. Caramel malt and toffee aromas with pine and citrus in the background. Sweet malt flavor, mild pine, and a sweet and bitter finish; this isn’t that hoppy. Nice.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 halfonit (929) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 1, 2010
This brew pours a clear golden color. Aroma is full of hops and grapefruit. Flavor has pine, hops, and malts present. Leaves a hoppy finish. Pretty good stuff.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 yesyouam (951) - Fairport, New York, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Tröegs Pale Ale is an extremely clear, pale golden ale with a dense white head that has excellent retention and lacing. It has a slightly sweet, fruity and spicy aroma with notes of fresh cut wood, flowers and citrus. It’s medium-light bodied and very smooth with a dry finish. It has a well balanced flavor. It tastes resiny overall, without the sweetness of the aroma. The ample bitterness carries into the aftertaste. The malt flavor is pretty discreet and perhaps a touch melanoidal. Compared to a Sierra Nevada Pale, this seems more English in style but it’s still solidly American. It would make a solid session ale.
2.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 thedm (4116) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - JUN 26, 2010
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of frothy medium sized white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a very softly carbonated transparent yellow orange colored body. The mild aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The smooth flavor contained notes of hops. An OK brew just nothing special.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Acetobacter (816) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 2, 2010
Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a deep amber color, with a small to moderate white head. The nose gives the enticing hint of Simcoe hops, a rare and glorious find in an APA. The palate shows some initial moderate bitterness, along with the resiny danky note of the aforementioned hop variety. Medium-high crystal malt then moves to the fore, giving a subtle, but noticeable flavor of toffee. Bitterness moves back into toward the finish, which is otherwise clean and moderately dry. Overall, a very nice interpretation of a popular but oft-flawed style.

Clear golden amber with nice fluffy white head, awesome appearance for a pale ale... hoppy, citrusy, mildly fruity aroma... light to medium body, flavor is mild citrusy with some slightly sweet pale malts in the background...
