COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Bottle poured into a pilsner glass produced a light amber body with medium off-white head. Floral and citrus aroma. Flavor dominated by light fruits and spruce needles. Not quite as good as Troeg’s Hop Back, in my opinion but still a very drinkable pale ale.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Pours golden amber color with off white head. Aromas of pine hops and biscuit malts. Bready malt flavor with some pine hop bitterness. A little too malty for me. Medium body with average carbonation.

Pours a clear golden amber color with golden yellow hues when held to a light source and a one finger frothy white head that quickly fades into a lasting ring. Earthy hop aroma with lots of golden straw and grass character. Hints of biscuit malt and bread along with some crisp light fruit. Light, crisp medium body which is very well balanced and more complex than the average pale ale. Nice earthy dry hops up front which are quickly countered by a very refreshing sweet biscuity pilsner malt-like backbone. There’s also a fairly prominent earthy grass/straw presence and some sweet light crisp fruit notes, especially green apple. Very quaffable, excellent example of the style.

Golden color/ fleeting head. Nice piney floral hop aromas. light/medium body. Grapefruit bitter hop flavors on a thin pale malt base. Flavor is a bit of a letdown after that great smell.

Thanks to Rich for the bottle! Poured clear, brighter golden with a short-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up pale malts and honey (mostly honey) with toasted earth and floral accents.. a touch of orange too. The flavor found more of the honey and some crisp bready notes at the core with pine and orange bitterness around.. sharp and bitter, especially toward the back.. finished with orange zest and bready malts. Light-medium bodied with prickly carbonation on the palate.. not a great feel.. this didn’t do it for me.

Bottle. Pours a copper amber with an off white head. Pine, some light grapefruit with hints of citrus and earth y notes. Thin session ale with a light hoppiness. A nice APA.

Bottle. Pours yellow with a white head. Taste is citrus, dry hops, and metallic saaz hops. Overall pretty boring.

12oz. Pours a clear deeper yellow with a tin white head that has okay retention and leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma is orange juice, orange peel, potpourri, some spicy hops. Taste is citrus, light caramel, dry hops, some pilsener malt and Saaz hop notes. A little boring. Dry, metallic aftertaste.
