Frothy head, light gold color. Hopsy taste.
Real nice aroma. Old country smell. Classic American ale.

12oz bottle. Fairly average pale ale. While quite drinkable it lacked much character. Pours light golden with white head. Nothing special.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Naka (630) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 17, 2009
Pours a clear golden amber color with a small fizzy slightly off white head. Aroma is a clean grainy and slightly caramely sweet with a somewhat spicy hop note. Flavor is a balanced honey and bread with a nice resiny hop. This is a relatively old bottle, so I’m impressed with how well it has held up. Medium body with a crisp bitter finish. A nice beer overall.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 craftycarl21 (1591) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 9, 2009
Golden pour with a small, bubbly white head. Aroma holds some citrus, grain, a bit of soap suds. Flavor is subtle overall; not really my kind of beer. However, the flavor is nicely balanced and certainly drinkable, with some light sweet malt and a bit of hop bitterness. Nothing really impresses me about this beer; I find this definitely overrated. How can this be so well rated for the style when many other pale ales have loads more flavor and complexity? Still not horrendous, but disappointing.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 oteyj (1753) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 9, 2009
Clear golden pour with a one finger sudsy white head. Aroma is somewhat sudsy with mild hints of sweet malt and grain. Flavor is muted to an extent- some sweet malt in the form of caramel and toast with a citrus and grass hop character that provides a nice hop backbone. Palate is medium to full for the style, with a clean semi-smacking finish. Tastey, but a bit overrated.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phillybeer28 (19) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Bottle. Typical pale ale, with a hoppy taste and smooth finish. Medium flavor, medium body, soft carbonation.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Travlr (4540) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - NOV 8, 2009
Bottle from Chevy Chase Beer & Wine, chilled for 8 hours.
Very clear golden straw with a very small white head that disappears quickly. Little carbonation.
Aroma of fresh flowers and grass, some citrus and a faint hint of black pepper.
Taste is clean and crisp, slightly bitter edge but plenty of malt as well - good balance. Hint of sweetness at the beginning, finish is dry and nicely bitter.
It’s always a pleasant surprise to find a subtle American pale ale that doesn’t clobber your palate with hops. Good example of the style.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 frylock (1084) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 7, 2009
Clear golden brown color with a thin ring of white foam. Light aroma with some floral hop notes. Cascade hops balanced by some crystal malt. Neither coming across too strong. Well balanced and very drinkable with. Finishes crisp and dry with some subtle bitterness lingering on the tongue.
