COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tröegs Pale Ale is an American style Pale Ale that is aggressively hopped with Northwest Cascades and balanced with Belgian crystal malts to create a hoppy, copper-colored crisp ale. An excellent example of a classic American Pale Ale.

Sample at the Eurostash tasting on 04/30/09: This brew is a clear copper-gold color with a medium bone white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. The aroma is moderately hoppy with notes of bready malt. Medium body with grassy hops and malt flavors. The finish remains grassy and hoppy and does not last very long. Overall a decent and drinkable beer, but is not up to snuff with a lot of the APAs out there.

Pours very clear. Smells as if you’ll get a nice suprise of solid hoppiness, but sadly disappoints. Pale Ale Light...

Smells hoppy and pours clear. Tastes watered down. Wouldn’t buy again but would drink it if free

Sampled as a precursor to Dogbrick’s Eurostash tasting. Cloudy gold color with a huge white head. Malty aroma balanced by grassy hops. Malt flavor with a hop back that is rather thin. Not bad for the style I guess, but I’m used to hoppier APAs. All the SNPA haters out there would really be disappointed with this one.

Crystal clear and bright copper in color. Modest head but it retains some bubbles. Minimal lace. Excellent blend of hop and lighter malts in the nose. Fresh hop flavor in the taste--somewhat prickly in a pine needle sort of way. Good malt base; closer to a amber ale on the malt side. The body is thinner than I would expect, but that may be the only distraction. This is one of the better APA’s I’ve had.
