4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A nice golden straw color that is clear and with avg. carbo’s.A white foam cap that fades to a ring around the edge of the glass.
A good hoppy aroma greets you followed by a bready malt aroma.
A balanced beer with neither malt or hop winning out. Just enought malt with a sweet bready taste and just enought hops to hold up the malts. Hops are slightly citrusy in taste.
A nice refreshing beer one could drink on a regular basis. It is also a good crossover beer for drinkers of those other beers.
A good fresh tasting, balanced, filling, beer

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Initial taste is surprisingly sweet, probably from the malt, which provides a mild blonde caramel flavor throughout. The hops come in as the beer warms a bit, balancing the sugar. Good, but not incredible, and a bit sweet overall.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
translucent copper, thin oily cap with white ring and good lacing. Heavy newspaper nose, oily pine bitterness with soft dough elements. Playdoh and moderate plastic front palate, piney earth is wet, dank with juicy nectarine mid, lightly buttery dough near end with low acid, low bitterness, dusty with faint metallicity through thin bodied fizzy finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
From bottle. Light amber color, faint aroma of fresh grass and pine. Evident hops flavors though balanced and not overpowering. Long dry finish. Overall a refreshing if not especially remarkable pale ale,

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
I’ve had this on tap more than enough times when I go back to visit my family in PA.
Into a pint glass every time. Remember its just an APA, no need to over do things, folks.
The appearance is a nice light golden yellow to almost orange color with a decent level half fingered white foamy head that ends up leaving some light stringy lacing sticking finely to the sides of the glass.
The smell had nice citrus based hops invading my nose with a decent maltiness backing that up.
The taste was a pure bittersweetness that allocates itself well on my tastebuds and ends up leading into a nice citrus sweet aftertaste. There is a quick dry finish.
On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and was fairly sessionable. The carbonation showed a decent harshness about it.
Overall, I say this was a great APA well worthy of having again and have always loved it with a big bacon cheeseburger.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From BA review on 2-2-12 -
Served in a pint glass
Appearance – An orange/amber color mix with a very light head. The thin white head faded leaving very little lacing.
Smell – The aroma was pretty mild, but some citrus hoppines mixed with an ever so slight bit of biscuit maltiness was detected.
Taste – Mostly citrusy grapefruit bitterness at the forefront. A little bit of caramel and roasted malt sweetness then comes into the taste profile. Nothing is off in the taste, but nothing is really too potent or enticing either. Just a bit above the norm.
Mouthfeel – A little thin on the body with a nice level of carbonation for the style.
Overall – A very standard brew through and through. Nothing bad, but nothing too exceptional either.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at brewery tap room. Pours golden with 2 inches of white foam. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Fairly big hop notes on the tongue. Pretty leafy on the tongue as well with a nice amount of bitterness. Finishes fairly clean. I’d much rather have this than one of their session IPA’s.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A strange kind of APA. Very strong for a style. Full bodied. Havy on alcohol. Reminds more of a Abbey Tripel than the APA. Very fruity, oily texture. Appricot. Nice beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. A pretty cool, outdated example of an APA. Not a new-school tropical session beer, more classic in its hefty malt bill. Piny, crisp NW hops. Sort of hard to believe this beer is only 5.4%, comes off much bigger. Sort of a dinosaur as I drink it. Oily hop tastes. I don’t know about this one. Bold and well brewed, but no one wants heavy crystal malt in their APA anymore.
