Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

9/12/14. Draft at surf club. May be called an Imperial, but drinks more like a real solid IPA. Doesn't have the boozy mouthfeel of a DIPA but does have nice alcohol hop balance and a refined hop profile. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can. It pours a nice light golden color with an off white head. The aroma has big tropical fruit, mango, a little dank and garlic with sweet ruby red grapefruit. The flavor has more spicy hops with strong piney bitterness, grapefruit and milder notes of tropical fruit that show up mid palate. A little caramel in the background, but not much. Really well brewed and tasty.

Good but misleading - it is an imperial pale ale and I bought it thinking it was an Indian Pale Ale. The taste is good, but not overly complex like you'd expect in an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. I was wrong to expect this to be an IPA. What’s the difference? Well, it doesn’t have as much going on in the body. Lots of grains, but probably little other than 2-row. It’s light colored. It’s actually a bit syrupy. Lots of hop flavors going on, but it isn’t very bitter. Maybe I drank this the wrong time of year as it is more of a sipper than a thirst-quencher.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Big citrus, pineapple, grapefruit aromas. Grapefruit, resiny, citrusy, bitter flavors. Really nice hop flavors. I’m glad we starting getting Troegs in Charlotte.

Great aromas of grapefruit, orange, clover. Full and smooth palate, with robust and bitter hops -- truly bitter -- hop leaf, citrus and peel, some spice.

Twelve ounce bottle in a Sam Adams tulip glass. My favorite beer for my first rating.

Bottle 12 fl.oz. Pours a clear medium orangy colour with a medium frothy white head. Aroma is toasted malt, some hops, citrus, orange. Taste is hops, fruits. Excellent!

Slyder's Tavern, Dayton, OH, draft. Golden and clear. Crisp and bitter. Pine aroma. Small head with good lacing. Not heavy, could drink it all day. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

23oz draft in Local restaurant at Philly airport. A slight amber tint to a classic IPA golden hue. Very little white head, doesn’t persist. Unoverwhelming but nice hop aroma, smells of light pine and citrus. Nothing unfamiliar. Great mouth feel witha lingering bitterness that is quite pleasant. Taste is on a lighter side for the style. Not too much malt or hop. Nothing special, but an overall tasty beer. A 98 rating seems a bit high. But again, a solid beer. I’d drink a few!
