Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

Clear dark yellow pour with a nice off white head and lacing. Hoppy nose. Funny how this is listed as an IPA, but right there in the description it calls itself an imperial pale ale. This is good, but there is a strong bitterness in the finish that is chalky or rubbery. Maybe this is an old keg?

Reviewed from notes. I had this in a pint glass more than enough times but also had it in a tulip several times as well. The only difference I actually noticed was the fact that the head lasted longer in the tulip. The appearance was a decent orange to brown color with a one finger foamy head in both glasses. The smell was citrus hops, kinda coming through in a tropical sort of way and as it warms, there’s a nice melding of the caramel malts entering in. The taste was almost a perfect bittersweet gentleness running over my taste buds. There was a nice bittersweet aftertaste leading into a nice dry citrus finish. On the palate, it sat fairly light but also showed a decent quality of perhaps coming close to medium in the body. Still, I say there was a nice sessionability running about this one. The carbonation pummels my mouth into submission with the nice harshness of an AIPA but still the gentleness of a DIPA. Overall, though labeled an IPA on this website, this is quite the borderline DIPA in my opinion. Still, no matter how one views it, this is one always to be enjoyed by whoever is drinking it.

Poured from a tap. Sparkling yellow color, fizzy white head. Moderate hoppy and herbs aroma. Full dry body with a sweet and bitter flavor with notes of dried fruit and a nice finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A moderate aroma of citrus and dried fruit. A good looking creamy off white head amber colored beer. A sweet fruity flavor with a watery astringent finish.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2014 trying to rate this as an ’imperial pale ale’ rather than IPA (more/lighter malt concentration?) - aroma isn’t huge *more hop aromas come out as it warms* - primarily bread/grains and honey with some fresh pine, earthiness, sweet citrus, and a bit of booziness. flavor is more substantial with pleasant earthy/melon-like/dry citrus hops with honey and plentiful yet, lighter malts - a hint of alcohol, but youd never guess 7.5% - palate is relatively clean and smooth with lower bitterness and grainy malts with some earthy/mushroomy and melony hops lingering. a lot of complex/sweet breadyness with lower bitterness hops - not really my fav, but good for what it is I suppose (*not as an india pale)

On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass. Pours clear golden with a small off-white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has huge notes of lemon, citrus, tropical fruit, flowers and a touch of pale malts. The flavour is fairly balanced between delicate citrusy hoppy bitterness on the one hand and dryish pale malts on the other. It becomes more bitter towards the end. The finish is medium in length and moderately bitter with pine notes predominating. On the palate it is light-medium in body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a decent IPA but fairly simple overall. 2014-04-27

35,5 cl bottle @ hotel room, Copenhagen. Bottled 19.06.2013
Aroma is sweet with gluey tones, some fruity hops and grain. Flavour has pineapple juice, some fruity hops, glue and alcohol. A bit on the boozy side but not bad anyway.
