At Tröegs, artisanal meets mechanical in a state of IPA we call Perpetual. Cycling through our HopBack vessel and dry-hopping method, this bold Imperial Pale Ale emerges rife with sticky citrus rind, pine balm and tropical fruit.

Pours quite clear-golden in color with a nice sudsy, pure-white head. Sharp pine-citrus hop aroma. A drier taste, leaves you thirsting for more; light bodied but hop heavy with some light earthy tones.

Bottled 082112, batch 120730. Nose is sweet and hugely hoppy, grapefruit and pine, floral and citrus, big tropical fruit and a touch of toasted bread. Deep golden pour with a short off-white head. Taste is bone dry at first and very bitter, lightly scratchy with resin, there’s light perceived sweetness from the hops after a while. Light-medium body with some caramel malt, avg base with some decent dry-hopping.

Great thick malt and caramel taste. Wonderful hop complexion, good alcohol flavor. Balance is very good. Really a great IIPA or whatever this is considered.

Tried this at pizza plant, not at home, so I couldn’t put my finger on everything I was tasting/smelling. Darker amber pour with a nice white lacing head. Can’t pick up any dominating aromas in here. Pretty thin body, but a smooth drinking ipa. Sweet and citrusy hops of front with a bitter hop finish. not my ideal cold weather beer, but it’s a nice fresh tasting ipa. Would drink it again if it was around.

Clear and tan/yellow with a good lasting white head and good lacing. Nice and piney with citrus and floral notes. Malts also notable in the nose. Taste wise it’s got bready and caramel malt notes, piney grapefruit and oranges, floral and a little bit of residual sweetness. Body is very nice, good carbonation levels and nice hoppy finish. A nice balanced brew. Nothing spectacular but highly drinkable.

Bottle shared by djmiller92. Thanks Dave. The beer is yellow, perhaps slightly orange, with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the tulip glass. The aroma is dominated by citrus and hops. Very nice. The flavor follows suit, with notes of tropical fruit, as well as a citrus and floral presence. Subtle notes of pine are present as well. Alcohol presence is well disguised. Malt is secondary to hops, as it should be. A really tasty IPA from an east coast brewery. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-26-2011

Bottle. Darker orange with little head or lace. Aroma of is sweet ripe tropical and floral hope array. Flavor continues with a round caramel and fruity sweetness that gives way quickly near the end to an almost bracing bitterness. Mouthfeel is normal. Nice clean hop beer.

Aroma is very grassy hops and a hint of syrup sweetness. The flavor is grassy hops, citrus, somewhere between mild and medium sweetness and a mix of tart and bitter in the finish.

On cask. Amesbury Ale House on 10/20/2012. Aroma is full of floral and earthy hops plus some tropical fruit. Resin and fruity hops is balanced out by large amounts of caramel malt. The caramel is so predominate that the bitterness is not real overpowering. Lots of bready malt / toast as well. A lot of DIPA’s are on the sweet side so this doesn’t surprise me. Medium body with a sticky texture.

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Nice fresh hop and pineapple scents, great beer for the style.
