COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

On cask at the old toad rochester. Lovely hazy golden hur with small creamy head. Nose is of pine and grapefruit, slight tropical fruit too. Nice full caramel body, not much carbonation (it is a cask). Enjoyable, i must search out a bottle to compare.

Good if you like hops, more than you like the backbone of a good IPA, basically all hops, very golden and light, almost like a pils, but its all hops all the way through, not my fav but still solid and good for summer.

Pours a clear deep golden color with a minimal head that rings out to the glass very quickly. Aromas are grapefruit, pine and whiffs of more tropical fruits. Overall a very well balanced IPA... definitely doesn’t taste like a 7.5abv Smooth flavors of citrus, fruit matched with nice malts. Good easy finish... a sixer would be dangerous !

12oz bottle in a plastic cup. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma strong of lots of citrusy and piney hops, plus caramel malts and a little light fruits. Flavor the same, with more hops than most beers. Average texture. Could have more malts, but it’s good to have some beers that are just hop-heavy.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2012 10 oz glass This was purchased at Beer Run in Charlottesville with lunch. This brewery produces some excellent brews. The Perpetual is an excellent Imperial D/IPA. There is much to like on each sip. The ale poured a clear golden color with a thick head and lacing. There was pine on the nose and resiny hops. There was some spice or coriander. The medium body ale had average to soft carbonation. The finish had some bitterness in the back of your mouth.

Wow! Had this once before when it first came out and I don’t remember it being this good! Great aroma, tons of citrus hops and very drinkable. Awesome. Best beer I have had in awhile

Draft at Sugarmoms. Light orange amber with a thin head. Juicy orange pith citrus hop bitterness. Some wild grassy notes as well. Medium body, but feels thick for an IPA. Can feel the higher ABV. Bitter and dry. Very nice.

22oz bottle. Pours a bright, clear, pale gold color with a very thick, creamy, white head. Smell is dank herbal hops, candied orange peel, tangerine, tropical fruit, and a dab of caramel. Starts off with a big dose of citric and grassy hops slowly giving way to a mix of lightly toasted caramel malt, pine, and even more hop oils. The finish has lots of hop bitterness and some lasting dryness. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 05/31/2012. Batch #120507. A - Light amber body. Super clear with tons of rising bubbles. One finger white head with some awesome lacing and retention. S - Super citrusy. I can smell if from a few feet away. Piney with bright citrus notes. Mostly grapefruit and some oranges and pineapple A touch of warming booze and spice on the finish. T - Not as impressive as the nose. Toffee malts and grapefruit juice. Fairly one layered and boring. The finish is really bitter with some lingering pine and grassiness. Mouth feel is creamy with a low level of carbonation. Dry the whole way through. O - Pretty standard IPA. Very grapefruit heavy with some nice pine and grassiness. I think when it comes to Troegs though, nothing can beat the amazingly intense and tropical nugget nectar.
