Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

Bottle… Clear golden ale with a small, fluffy, white head. The aroma furnishes big honey, toffee, and citrusy hops. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Grassy, floral, citrusy hops are well-supported by a sturdy malt backbone. Grassy, moderately bitter finish. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

THOUGHTS: Tons and tons of hops, but not harshly bitter. It actually reminded me a little of an ale version of an imperial pilsener. It was a little amazing the way it was that hoppy and that light in color. Very nice. And you can’t beat the low price. Tons of hop complexity. Decent balance. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, light gold with an average to large, foamy, slightly off-white head that mostly, but slowly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had moderate cracker, pale malt and white bread; moderate to heavy lemon, orange, apricot and nectar hops; lighter pine and grapefruit hops; and light yeast. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and heavily bitter with a long duration. There was bread, cracker, biscuit, citrus hops, apricot, tangerine, pine, orange, a little grapefruit, lemon, a little yeast and something almost like honey. The medium body was a little oily and then dry and also a little sticky on the lips with light to moderately fizzy carbonation and a very dry finish.

Big thanks to ksurkin for this bottle. Bomber pours crystal clear copper with thin gold hues and creamy to bubbly off white head. The aroma offers up bitter grapefruit juice, lime peel, some spicy hops and sweet to almost caramel malts. The taste is nice and citrusy with tangelo, near ripe orange wedges and grapefruit. Around the flavor periphery I get thin rings of spicy hops and sweet malt sweetness. Nice IPA.

Bomber. Cloudy yellow with a clingy white head. More mild than expected. Medium to full body, nice finish that lasts. Overall a good IPA, but not one of my tops.

22 ounce bottle. Pale hazy straw with lasting head and lace. Fruity grapefruit tangerine aroma. Mild biscuity fruity apricot tangerine with super dry mildly bitter palate-cleansing finish. Just frigging delicious. I love IPAs like this. Nice and dry and lightly fruity. Not sure why this is "imperial."

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2013 Poured hazy orange-red with white head, aroma brought notes of pine, grass, some hints of citrus leading into some biscuit and slight caramel. Taste was full of grassy hops, hints of lemon and citrus, some biscuit and caramel notes, finishing fairly bitter.

Pours a cloudy lighter golden color. Has a thick white head. Aroma is of hops, soap, and some pine. Flavor has a nice grassy hop flavor, with some pine, earth, and spice. Leaves a citrus hop finish. This is definitely quenching my thirst.
