4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Truly outstanding. Very balanced beer with a ton of hops. Great nose. Given high points for appearance due to awesome head with superior lacing that let a ton of aroma loose. Best of all it did this without benig super strong and maintaining drinkability.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 28, 2014 22oz bottle. This is not an IPA, but an American Strong Ale? tastes very much like a delicious, hoppy IPA to me. Mostly clear yellow orange color, nice big fluffy head. Great lace. Great hop nose. Perfect bitterness, a hint of alcohol. Awesome dryness, perfect crisp carbonation. Light sweet taste, slight bite. Very hoppy, pine, grass, some tropical fruit. Delicious. Troegs’ answer to the Stone Ruination IPA. 8/4/8/5/16
Re-rate, 1/28/14: A lot can change in 2.5 years... Since I first rated this beer in the 22oz format, it was released in 6-packs 12oz bottles, and now 12 packs of cans. My can was filled 12/27/13. Clear golden orange color. Thin white head, that leaves plenty, thick rows of lace. Very smooth, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick, a light bit of dry in the finish. Bigger body. Very drinkable IPA. Good big piney hop aroma, some citrus. Nice clean malt bill, maybe just a light hint of pepperiness. Lighter on the caramel malt flavor. Good bigger bitterness, light sweet. A fantastic, poundable IPA. I forgot how good this was.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thanks to orangesol on BA for a bomber of this brewski via trade. Imperial Pale Ale? Seems like an India Pale Ale to me, but I respect Troegs’ classification. Clear orange-copper in color with a one-finger white head and good lacing on the glass. The aroma is nice, citrusy and herbal with notes of orange rind and a considerable sweet honeyish malt presence. The flavor has a sweet malt base with honey and cereal grains with herbal, leafy, grapefruit, and tangerine hop notes. Dry and bitter finish that balances the sweetness. Medium-bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. A solid beer. Could certainly pass for a very good east coast IPA given the malt/hop balance.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber bottled 8.11.11, batch # 110712. Cool label. Pours clear pale orange and gold with a medium-sized foamy off-white head that leaves some sticky lacing. Aromas of sweet pine and tropical fruit, plenty of dank hops and fruit, and citrus. The flavor is light citrus (orange and grapefruit), chalk, sweet papaya, and dank citrus, with a bitter citrus finish. A mild tartness is present, with some sweetness in the aftertaste. Moderate carbonation and medium to full-bodied; very refreshing. This is a fine beer.

Copperish pour. Nose hits you with some nice juicy hops, loaded with citrus peel and a note of grainy yeasty goodness. Flavor is loaded with a big juicy hop bitterness, fruit, caramel malt. Oh yeah this is a cool beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber thanks to Sloth- I won his contest, thanks Bert! Pours a mostly clear copper/orange color with a medium white head. The aroma is marmalade and fresh oranges, some biscuit and yeast. An interesting beer, certainly not a super aggressive IPA, dominated by oranges and tropical fruit, some lingering soft bitterness, a very nice creamy palate, almost a bit of Wit beer in this. Very drinkable, perhaps some Citra in this? I could drink about 3 pints of this on tap. Nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Vinnie and Tom. Pours a bright yellow with a soapy frothy head. Aroma of honey, nectary floral notes, vanilla, pineapple, and some earthy, grassy notes. Tastes nice and tropical with some juicy pine hints and some crazy bitterness. Medium bodied with a dry, somewhite astringently hopped finish. Really good IPA.

3.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tangerine, grapefruit flesh, and pineapple aroma. Shimmering amber, thick white lacing head. Grapefruit peel and pineapple flavor with a light malt counter balance. Lasting grapefruit peel on the palate. Thin body with no alcohol perceptible. Good bitterness, the dry hopping is delicious and obvious, but the beer is rather spinelss. A great beer otherwise.
