COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

Bottle. Hazy, golden honey color. Thick, foamy, white head; a lot of lacing. Hoppy, floral aroma with grapefruit. Malty caramel up front balanced by grapefruity hoppiness. Bitter, resin finish. Excellent overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BOD 8/19/14. Clear golden pour with a normal head. Excellent lacing, normal retention. Nose of tropical and citrus hops, with some pine in the background, over a light biscuit. Light medium body with a nice slick texture. Slightly above normal carbonation with a nice bit of effervescence on the finish. The excellent flavor profile is complex and a masterpiece of balance. It begins with a balanced blend of hop flavors that flow into a moderate bitterness, that has a spicy note, over a slightly sweet biscuit background. The middle is where the flavor components fade with the alcohol completely hidden. The finish effervesces nicely and leaves you with a nice slightly spicy pine bitterness that flows into grapefruit rind. Outstanding!!

Pours a golden orange with a one finger white head with nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, tropical fruits, peach, sweet malts, and some light bready malts. Taste is similar the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy, moderately bitter, slighty dry, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty, pretty complex ipa, that tastes like it was brewed in San Diego.

Big hops here. Golden/amber color, aroma is all grapefruit. Nice and bitter. Great to see Troegs put out a truly solid offering in this category.

9/12/14. Draft at surf club. May be called an Imperial, but drinks more like a real solid IPA. Doesn't have the boozy mouthfeel of a DIPA but does have nice alcohol hop balance and a refined hop profile. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. can. It pours a nice light golden color with an off white head. The aroma has big tropical fruit, mango, a little dank and garlic with sweet ruby red grapefruit. The flavor has more spicy hops with strong piney bitterness, grapefruit and milder notes of tropical fruit that show up mid palate. A little caramel in the background, but not much. Really well brewed and tasty.

Good but misleading - it is an imperial pale ale and I bought it thinking it was an Indian Pale Ale. The taste is good, but not overly complex like you'd expect in an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. I was wrong to expect this to be an IPA. What’s the difference? Well, it doesn’t have as much going on in the body. Lots of grains, but probably little other than 2-row. It’s light colored. It’s actually a bit syrupy. Lots of hop flavors going on, but it isn’t very bitter. Maybe I drank this the wrong time of year as it is more of a sipper than a thirst-quencher.

Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Big citrus, pineapple, grapefruit aromas. Grapefruit, resiny, citrusy, bitter flavors. Really nice hop flavors. I’m glad we starting getting Troegs in Charlotte.

Great aromas of grapefruit, orange, clover. Full and smooth palate, with robust and bitter hops -- truly bitter -- hop leaf, citrus and peel, some spice.
