3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle poured a hazy golden with orange hues, a medium tan head, and notable lacing. Aroma includes floral and resin hops, orange zest, grapefruit, and caramel malt. Taste is dominated by hop bitterness with hints of citrus and malt. Smooth finish with palatablle bitterness lingering.

3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a gorgeous golden orange. One of the most beautiful IPAs I’ve seen. nice 1 finger head that sticks around. Nose is a mix of pine cones and tangerine skin. Sticky mouthfeel, piney and resinous, very little citrus and extremely bitter finish. Thin mouthfeel for a 7.5% beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance is a clear amber with medium white head. Aroma is a more sweet hop. Taste is certainly bitter, but hidden underneath a sweet earthy hop. Overall a well balanced IPA.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
multiple fresh bottles. mostly clean pale gold with a fine-bubbled white head. pine resin and acidic tropical fruit juice aroma turns more to shallots and cat urine as it breathes. has a lot of chalky minerality and potato-like starches with strong yeast vitamin B powder presence. assertive hop acids are a mix of juicy fruit / tutti-frutti-flavored gum and pine resin, though the latter is milder in flavor than aroma. grainy / starchy texture amplifies the brash hop bitterness. neutral pale malt provides little structure to support the brash hop bitterness, but it’s really the vitamin B yeastiness that kills it. yes it’s hoppy, and yes, the first whiff smells pretty nice, but it doesn’t take long for the mashed potato-starch malt and chalky yeast to overwhelm.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
On cask so the palate score is probably f’ed up. Aroma is a nice piny citrus IPA with some slight Christmas spice. Taste is more Christmas nutmeg/cinnamon and then a nice citrus and pine thing going on. The beer was not bad from a cask. I’d like to try a regular draft.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Citrusy and piney hops on the nose, with a touch of caramel. Mostly clear orange with a small, fairly lasting, white head. Dry, bitter, very well balanced, with some earthy hoppiness, and nutty malts. Light-medium bodied and very smooth, with a cushy carbonation and a clean, hoppy finish.

Clear yellowish-orange pour. Noticeable pleasant flowery hop aroma. Good balance of malts and hops in the taste. Good mouthfeel for the IPA.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap @ Kloby’s Smokehouse: nice, bright IPA, very well balanced. Pours clear (not murky). Notes of citrus due to Citra hops; Troegs rep said 5 different hops are used. Smooth drinking, in spite of it’s 7.3 ABV. Assertive without being aggressive or overbearing. I may have found my new go-to IPA; will have to try in bottles to compare.
