Perpetual IPA (Imperial Pale Ale, not India Pale Ale). In our constant evolution as a brewery, we’ve developed a drive to meld artisanal and mechanical. Perpetual IPA utilizes our hopback and dry-hopping to engineer a bold Imperial Pale Ale. We’re always testing the boundaries of modern brewing.

very bright yellow/gold with pillowy white head. Pine, grass and hop resin dominate the nose, nothing lavender like or perfumery and any discernable citrus is on the grapefruit rind end of the spectrum. Taste is the same, all out pine assualt, dry finish. This is the most ruination-like offering brewed on the east coast. This is hop juice all the way and from Troegs, they have been reluctant to suppress the malt like this. Picked up by chance on a trip through Jersey on the advice of a patron.

Clear golden yellow, with minimal head and lacing. A light bodied IPA with little complexity and a few decent pine and citrus notes. Seemed a little metallic at first but that soon washed away. Bottled on: 8/25/15 Consumed on: 9/15/15 $9.99/multi sixer at Wegmans Leesburg VA

I really like this. Drinks very easy. Nice bitter bite that fades quickly to a mild hang on the palate. I would certainly get this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

APPEARANCE - light golden color. Whisky white head. NOSE - lot of floral hops packed into every whiff. Slight pine backbone and not much fruitiness to it. FLAVOR - really smooth bittering hop flavors. They give way to mildly resinous notes, and other than the very first sip, hardly any of the floral flavors that treated my nose so well. NOTES - Tröegs is always good for an IPA, and this one doesn’t disappoint.

Type: 12-oz. can Glass: Lagunitas mason jar From: Eddy’s Beverage Inc. in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Price: $1.99 Purchased: July 14, 2015 Consumed: July 24, 2015 Misc.: Canned on March 16, 2015 (I think) Poured a honey, pale, hazy color with 5-to-6 fingers of off-white, frothy head. Lots of uneven bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Above average foamy, layered, spiderweb lacing on the sides of the glass. Great retention on the top all the way down. (Sight - 4.13) Smelled wet Cascade, pine, soap, caramel, floral, herbal and slight menthol. If what I read was correct (March 16 canned on date), then that is why the smell is just OK. (Smell - 3.63) Tasted pretty close to the nose, maybe a tad more malty. Floral, pine, wet Cascade, herbal, light menthol, tropical notes and faint passion fruit. (Taste - 4.00) Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. (Feel - 3.63) This was a pretty good IIPA and I’m sure it would have been better fresher. Would like to give it another try. (Overall - 3.88) 3.87 87 B+
