Nose of roasted malt, toffee, chocolate, and sweet corn. Toasty, bready, nutty, woody, earthy, malty flavor. Medium , creamy body with a smooth, well balanced finish. Probably my favorite brown ale. Aroma was of toffee, brown sugar, nuts, and a hint of cola. Relatively light body and delicately sweet with a nutty note. I also tasted some nice subdued flowery hop. Pretty tasty. jeremytoni (1089), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2008 This beer poured a deep brown with no head. The aroma reminds me of caramel, some butterscotch, and the slight hint of roasted grains. The flavor is very close to the aroma except fuller. It is nutty, roasted, caramel tasting. It has a medium body with low carbonation. I enjoy this beer and wouldn’t hesitate to drink a six-pack. lowgun1212 (77), Montclair, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 13, 2008 deep brown color. nice nose even though its colder than it should be right now; caramel, nutty, chocolate, warm. flavor less inviting but tasty; dry, woody, a touch sour. mouthfeel average if not sharp. very drinkable, accessible, and fun even. gabbama (115), Ft. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Nutty roasted malt aroma with some chocolate notes and a hint of hops. Nice light toasted malt and nutty chocolate flavors. Looses points with me for a pretty thin, watery body. Overall, not bad but nothing spectacular here. cbkschubert (1966), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 10, 2008 12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus_Stick - Pours a dark brown color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light lacing. Aroma is a veggie like, lightly roasted malt with a hint of nuts. Also has a good bit of herbal hops in the aroma. Flavor is toasted malt, chocolate, and light nuttiness. Soft palate, but a tad thin. Light to medium body. A pretty good Brown ale. Thanks Alan. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2008 Pours dark brown with a tall but unstable tan head. Very chocolatey aroma definitely with a roasted character that could be nut-like. Taste is definitely nutty, also with a little chocolate in the middle and on the end. Thin body though, and a flavor that doesn’t really last or really stand out. Really like the initial sweet nutty flavor though.
