Aromas of caramel malts, nuts, and just a touch of chocolate. Flavor is earthy with nuts, caramel, and a bit of chocolate. Some roasty notes as well with a smooth palate. Just a little sour at the finish. Otherwise a solid brown ale. Would be great for a session ale. JdoubleyouS (82), Erie, Pennsylvania, USA

But for a brown ale the balance between sweet and hop is right on. I would like to take this on the trail. IndianaRed (1555), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Bottle Pours a clear deep mahogany. Nice thick tan head and heavy sheeting lacing. Soft woody malt aromas. Some dusty musty, notes as well I cant put my finger on. Flavors are quite subdued and uninteresting. Lightly roasted malts, wody, slightly sweet, with a wierd cardboard bitter aftertaste. Actually a bit surprised to see this w/ such a high style percentile. Not bad over all though dp (512), uniontown, Ohio, USA

I could definitely drink a few of these with a nice meal or just hanging around. It isn’t anything over the top but I would say try some out stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
