robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Dec 15, 2005 Brown/Red Tints Coloring with Sandy Head. Light Nutty Aroma. Sweet Dry Light Nut Roasted Malt Taste. Nice Brown and Not Too Nutty. kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 13, 2005 12 oz bottle. Poured dark chestnut, clear, with a small fizzy head that disappeared immediately. Nutty aroma with hints of chocolate malt in the background. Also some light coffee notes as well. Sweet nutty flavor with very light roastyness and coffee on the finish. Pretty thin and weak with a force carbonated mouthfeel. Pretty weak overall, but then again, how many "Nut Brown Ales" are that amazing? Birdiebeagle (778), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 8, 2005 Great color, with very little head. Nice aroma.Has a chocolate, nutty taste, although its not overbearing. Very little after taste. All in all a very enjoyable beer. I would recommend it. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Dec 7, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with slob, thanks Bert!) A solid, though somewhat standard nut brown, this beer is sweet, malty, chocolaty and nutty, with just a hint of smoky roast in the finish. Bitterness is mild overall, as is the carbonation level, so this medium bodied brew is smooth and easy on the palate. Might be a touch watery though in the finish. Not a whole lot to the nose, just mildly nutty, malty and sweet. A small light tan head initially caps the medium brown liquid, but quickly settles to a ring. Tasty, and at 4.4% ABV, this would be a reasonable session beer for me. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 3, 2005 Pours mahogany brown with lacing ringing white head. Smelled like a fart, then turned to sweet with some honey and huts. Taste of malt, sweet honey. Nice, smooth palate. badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Nov 30, 2005 Dark ruby color with a thin head. Dry malt aroma with some maple syrup floating around. The taste is laden with bittersweet malt. A slightly nutty finish. JFURYCAT (782), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 27, 2005 This one isn’t rugged enough or nutty enough for me. I was attracted to Troegs by this label but its a bit too watery for me. Its not a bad beer though. I just wish the roasted flavor was more prevalent. Pinnhead (93), New Jersey, USA Nov 23, 2005 Mildly bitter and smooth and just barely NOT opaque. Stands up to a porter without being overbearing.
