Commercial Description:
Tröegs Rugged Trail Ale is a unique rendition of a classic English Brown. It has a deep bronze color, rocky head, and prominent Fuggle hop aroma. Toasted amber and Chocolate malts impart a "Nutty" richness and creamy velvet texture.

12oz bottle from mrchopin. Troegs is quickly becoming my favorite east coast brewery. Rugged trail pours a lightly hazed deep brown with a thin tan head. Tons of toasted malts and hazel nuts on the nose. Flavor was malty and toasty, a pretty damn good brown.

Bottle shared with after4ever. Thanks! Pours a clear dark amber with an off-white head. Light body with restrained carbonation. A bit of molasses in the nose, and a bunch more in the taste. It sort of creeps up on you as you get closer to the bottom of the glass. Some nutty notes as well.

12 oz. bottle via trade with Linus_Stick - Pours a dark brown color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light lacing. Aroma is a veggie like, lightly roasted malt with a hint of nuts. Also has a good bit of herbal hops in the aroma. Flavor is toasted malt, chocolate, and light nuttiness. Soft palate, but a tad thin. Light to medium body. A pretty good Brown ale. Thanks Alan.

Garnet color with a light tan head. Mild nutty roasted malt aroma. Medium bodied . A mild flavor mirrors the smell with roasted malts and nuts. Very fresh tasting. 9277

Bottle courtesy of DrJay. Thanks!
Pours a dark brown almost black color with a short lived tan head. Sweet, nutty malt taste, with roasty, nutty charred like malt, but lightly so. Medium to full bodied with some coffee flavors complementing the mild bitterness in the finish. Average to light carbonation, and nicely flavorful on the whole. Good brown ale.

12oz bottle thanks to Springslicker. A dark brown/red pour with a slight tan head. A nutty aroma with a malt kicker. A nice sweet flavor not much bitter. The palate is just a tad thin and slightly over carbonated for me. Not a bad beer thanks Jay

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown color with a light tan head. Nice nutty aroma along with some malt, both of which also come through in the taste. Creamy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable.

bottle. dark brown/amber with a small off white head. Medium carbonation. Aroma: sweet malts, some chocolate, and some honey sweetness. Taste is malty caramel, nutty, a bit thin bodied with a smooth finish. haven’t drank many nut brown ales so don’t have a good means of comparison yet.
