Commercial Description:
Tröegs Rugged Trail Ale is a unique rendition of a classic English Brown. It has a deep bronze color, rocky head, and prominent Fuggle hop aroma. Toasted amber and Chocolate malts impart a "Nutty" richness and creamy velvet texture.

To me, it’s like a hoppier newcastle. Pretty good.

Nice, rich red color with a very mild, slightly metallic aroma. It has a rich caramel beginning, but a slightly bitter and somewhat watery finish. It’s a decent beer, but nothing I would seek out.

A handsome, sparkling clear ruby ale with a medium-sized, frothy, khaki head. The aroma is excellent. Buttery milk chocolate and toasted pistachios and almonds. The flavor is malty with chocolate and roasted nuts predominating... much like the nose. Well-balanced, but thin and watery. Light-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Crisp, clean finish with some coffee notes to finish things off.

(Rating #941)
