Scratch 13-2008 is all about tradition. This copper lager is reminiscent of what you would find under one of those mammoth tents in Munich this time of year.
A rich trio of Pils, Munich and Vienna malts combined with the light bitterness of noble hops creates this traditional lager beer. We left this one unfiltered to bring out a slight yeast flavor.

Acquired in a trade with machfive55. Thanks Rich. 12oz bottle served in a shaker glass. Light amber body topped by a small amount of foam. Smells of spicy noble hops and a bit of dough. Taste is very bread-like, some character from the hops comes through a bit as well. Clean finish and a smooth mouthfeel round out the experience. A very refreshing fest beer.

An enjoyable version of an O-Fest, I felt this beer was much lighter on the maltiness than a traditional O-Fest beer. According to the brewery rep that helped me, it was not as dry as they had originally planned. The beer does not have a whole lot of interesting character, but is an excellent session beer. It is light on hoppiness and maltiness and is unfiltered unlike a traditional O-Fest. Pours a cloudy orangish color. This is a beer you could drink all day in the true spirit of a fest beer.
