A perennial favorite here at Tröegs amongst co-workers and fans alike, our Belgian-style Witbier (or white ale) features a blend of wheat, oats, and malted barley along with spices, Belgian yeast and other juju to create a complex yet refreshing flavor. With a dense haze and foamy white head, our Witbier incorporates subtle tartness and a delicate orange aroma to complement the aromatic spices and distinctive LaChouffe yeast. An excellent summertime quaffing delight, Scratch #149 finishes dry and crisp.

6-pack from my mom. Quite a good wit, refreshing and light, nice coriander flavor, spice and citrus in the nose. Would buy this if they made it their regular wit offering, though I don’t know if they want a hefe and a wit at the same time.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle, thanks to Santa. The aroma is citrusy and herbal, coriander, yeasty. The flavor is citrusy, wheat, cracker, coriander. This is a solid wit beer, but I do feel that it is over spiced.

Sample at the brewery. Yellow white and cloudy. A white ring. A wheat and spiced aroma is light but pleasant. Wheat and oats arevtasted and the oats smooth this out. Soft clove notes and bananas with gentle orange flavor. This is a quality wit.
