Dark brown pour with a medium head. Aroma is quite roasty with some coffee and nuts. Flavor has some roast and choco/coffee, but way too nutty. Seemed a bit off. Dead Reckoning was better

12oz bottle. Deep garnet colored body with a light, off-white head. Nose of roast, cream, some scotch, some rye bread, and some light grassy, lightly minty hops. Similar nose to Dead Reckoning Porter, but less hoppy/minty. Fresh cocoa and light roast up front, turning heavier, more charry on the back. Smooth, light and thin on the palate, and pasty in a creamy, roasty finish, with lingering soft hints of campfire wood smoke.

Appearance: Pours a clear, medium reddish-brown body with a rock, off-white head.
Smell: Gentle aroma of roasted grains, cocoa, and herbaceous hops.
Taste: Lightly flavorful mix of cocoa and toasted nuts with a soft sweetness. Herby hops provide some bitterness for the otherwise cocoa-like finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Some itches shouldn’t be scratched.

Light chocolate and caramel aroma, ruby brown in color with a nice, rocky off-white head. Very creamy. Lots of chocolate in the flavor, mild roast, and some sweet cherries. I am enjoying…Thanks docster!

Dickinsonbeer shared this 12 oz bottle. Brown in color with alot of ruby highlights, pretty light for a porter. Aroma is light roast and chocolate, mostly caramel. Taste has chocolate, light roast, caramel. Medium bodied. Finishes with a light hop bitterness.

Bottle from Capones. Brown pour with off white head. Typical roast aroma with roast and coffee flavor but it felt thin in the mouth and just came up a little short for me. It’s ok.

A thin, primitive porter that rounds the expected bases. A bit more red and watery than I prefer, but it’s fun to take a look at the early days of Troegs.

12 oz. bottle via trade with jasonmech77 - Pours a brown color with a one and a half finger thick light tan head. Light spotty lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, herbal hops, peat, and dried fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, peat, and light esters with a hop bite. Palate is a little thin and quite dry. A nice beer. Thanks Jason.
