COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In honor of Oktoberfest, we give you Scratch #23-2009, Kellar Fest. This unfiltered lager features all German malts and noble hops. Fermented with the Augustinerbrau yeast strain, Kellar Fest is a blend of Bohemian Pils, Munich and Vienna malts. The Magnum hops provide a crisp bitterness and the Hallertau noble hops impart a slight earthy taste. Kellar Fest finishes crisp and dry with hints of fruit. Grab a lamb handle and savor this Kellar Fest.

Growler from Brewery. Pours a clear orange with a thin off-white head that lasts throughout. Moderate lacing, Very light malt aroma. Maybe even a hint of citrus. Definite pilsner malt flavor up front with a mildly bitter, spicy hop in the finish. Balances towards the sweeter side. Very smooth. Medium bodied. Medium carbonation.

Draught at TND: Faint aroma of light vegetables, light grains, and a hint of hops. Poured amber in color with a large, creamy, rocky, off-white /tan head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of grains, light pale malts, Saltines, slight hops, slight citrus, bread, and malts. Medium body. Slightly chalky texture. Average carbonation. Grain, pale malt, and bread finish is slightly chalky.

Samples provided by the Troegs Rep - Perfect Pour. Gold, creamy white head. Nutty earth aromas ride a soft wave of toasted cereal and yeast. Well balanced with an earthed herbal hop bitterness fading into a light bready malt finish. Crisp and somewhat refreshing with a faint citric backdrop. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation throughout. Far from special, but given the chance to session, I would go for it in a heartbeat...

tap at the tasting room. Has a nice orange colour to it. smell is a bit of sweet malt. Didn’t have a ton of flavor, taste was a sweeter malt taste, little bit of hops blended in at the end, warming aftertaste. fairly average

Bottle from my dad, which he picked up on his trip down here. Just alright. Lacking in flavor, especially after the initial tasting. This one won’t make another appearance, I’m sure.

Had a glass at Barcade, poured from the bottle. Quite good. Exactly what I would expect from an Old World malty beer. Sweet, with strong caramel and maple syrup notes. The ample and diverse malt presence adds to the complexity. Rich and full.

12 oz bottle served in a clear pint glass. Pour is a golden color with a medium haze and 2 fingers of wet white head; decent lacing with this one as well. Nose is very bland, almost nonexistent ... almost a light Belgian odor. Taste is very bland as well. There is a slight hop bitter with a light Belgian taste. Not anything special, actually, but it would be better than most of the macros out there.

This poured a hazy orange color with a big white head. Aroma was decent malts, rather bland to be honest. Flavor was much the same, bland malt, some caramel hints but very smooth.
