Crisp and biting with a squirt of hop juice and residual chalk. Taste is toffee, mandarin orange, peach and lemon zest. Grassy finish with doughy drying. Delicious and refreshing. The Brothers really nailed this one.

12 ouncer in a BA trade from dashirey.
The beer pours into the glass a hazy golden-straw color with a massive white head.
Aroma is damn good. I just realized this was barrel-aged, and that definitely makes sense to me now. My schnozz picks up bready malts and Belgian yeast, citrusy hops, and oak.
Down the ol’ hatch it goes. Along with the pale malts, there are tropical fruit notes and an estery Belgian yeast presence. Bright citrusy hops, oak, and even maybe some vanilla as well.
Really smooth on the mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with active carbonation.
I know I’m a Harrisburg homer sometimes, but I’ll be damned if Tröegs isn’t one of the best in the business. This one is tasty, drinkable, and even refreshing at 7.7% ABV. Solid stuff.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (6669) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 3, 2010
Bottled as "Belgian Style IPA". Poured hazy straw golden with lively rising carbonation and a sticky cap of white head. The aroma picked up peppery clove and sweet banana notes with backing of vanilla and bready character.. fresh earth and floral notes emerged as it warmed up, with catty hops and oak right on the back.. there was A LOT going on here, and I dug it. The flavor found a lot more of the same.. lightly sour lemon rind, orange zest, and oak opened, with banana sweetness settling onto the core.. very assertive spicy yeast, floral and catty bitterness, plus alcohol warmth on the back end and through the finish.. fresh hops and bright yeast left a long impression. Medium-bodied and very well carbonated on the palate.. assertive and engaging with a whole bunch of different stuff coming together well. I’ll gladly have another!
