3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The pour is a clear golden color with a big white head to go with it.
S: Quite sweet with lots of bread and fruit. I get quite a bit of white grape out of the nose, and maybe some plums, too. A light bit of citrus and floral hop notes are present as well.
T: Very, very sweet, almost like a Belgian beer with the sugary nature of it. Bread and honey are there, too. Some floral hops are present and the white grape character is there again, particularly on the finish.
M: The body is medium with a moderate to high level of carbonation.
D: Quite sweet, but pretty decent overall.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured near-clear medium golden with a tall, fluffy cap of whitish head. The aroma picked up honey and citrus fruity sweetness with accents of deeper sugars and karo syrup.. almost malt likka-ey with strong sugars and boozage.. too heavy-handed for my liking. The flavor found sweet corn, honey, and pale malty sugars at the core.. sharp boozage, lemon bitterness, and residual sugars on the edges.. finished sharp with sugars and booze over non-descript and adjuncty malts. Medium-bodied with higher carbonation on the palate.. too sharp in a lot of places, and the components didn’t seem to go together.. an unfortunate miss.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
In short: A full bodied and tangy maibock style beer. Nourishing and refreshing
How: Bottle 12oz. Consumed fresh soon after the beer release. Split three-way
The look: cloudy orange body topped by a small white head
In long: Nose is pleasantly tangy with also fresh wheat-like cereals. Smells like an orange muffin. Taste has biscuit malts, tangerines, clementines, soft cookies, a touch of honey, doughy yeast. Body feels nourishing and the beer is very refreshing. This was a really nice underrated beer imho. I’m not saying that the following Tröegs Scratch beers are not good, maybe it is just the young rebel in me, but I don’t trust any Scratch over 30.
