Bottle from a trade with phillybeer7779. Labeled as Belgian Brown. Pours dark reddish copper color with tan head. Aromas of dark fruits and raspberries and some Belgian yeast. Sweet raspberry flavor with some candy sugar and raisins. Not getting any cacao or vanilla. Artificial and medicinal tastes are overwhelming. Medium body with lively carbonation. Thanks Rich.

Bottle. Deep brown-amber. Softly fruity aroma with a sort of artificial cherry character. Flavour of cheap cherry cough syrup with a lingering woody astringency. Really, really medicinal. Bleh.

Pours dark red with a slight caramel tint and a light tan head. Lightly carbonated in appearance with an aroma of dark raspberries and vanilla beans. Flavor is mostly of sweet raspberry syrup with slight notes of roasted malts and walnuts. Kind of thin, light bodied.

Pours a ruby amber. More red than amber. Small off-whitish head that fades quickly and leaves no lacing. Smells of sour fruit. Fake raspberries. Sour taste up front, followed by a bitter feel. Very fruity. Tastes like incense, with ash. All I’m getting is the raspberries in this one. No cacao or vanilla. Not bad. A little bit too different but definitely a must try at least once.

Bottle from michael-pollack. Bottling No. "Belgian Brown". Pours dark ruddy amber with a creamy light beige head. Fairly strong aroma of raspberries. Med+ body. Flavor is raspberry followed by chocolate. And it stays that way. Slightly sour, slightly sweet, very raspberry and chocolate.

Bottle courtesy of Javit from TBS...thanks! Pours a dark reddish. Smell is a bit offputting at first, completely unexpected. Musty is a good word for it, as other people noted. It tastes strongly of raspberry and cherry and some cinnamon as well. I thought the flavor was alright.

magsinva (878) - Virginia, USA - APR 16, 2011
bottle - dark amber color with no head. Notes of vanilla on the nose. Taste is nutty, oaky but a little thin with low carbonation. Some times I’m getting a weird metallic bitter taste on the midpalatte which is a little weird. I can see where they were going with this one, and why they scratched it. Interesting beer though.

Draft at RnH for Troegs Night with Linh, Streets, and Brendan. Pours a deep brown body with a slight purple hue and no head. Aroma is delicious raspberries and slight vanilla. Mouthfeel is thin, the beer finishes somewhat unpleasantly with weird notes backed by the munich malts if i had to guess..

Bottle. Pours orange/amber, with a white head. Aroma is subtle, fruit, smoke, and nuts. Flavor is fruit, yeast, malt, and some smoke. Medium body, with a sweet finish.

Bottle shared at jcwattsrugger’s. Poured a clear orangey/brown with a small to average sized light beige head. Aroma of chocolate undertones, raspberries, belgian yeast and a slight hint of black pepper. Flavor is yeasty with fruitiness that starts off as cherry then fades to reaspberry, wood and earth. Medium to full body with strong carbonation. This one sipped more like a soda with no bitterness at all and no hint of alcohol.
