This is our 7th IPA in our continuing hops saga – which will culminate with the release of Perpetual IPA. (FYI, Perpetual IPA is not any one of these exact IPA recipes; the variations were an opportunity to test hop combinations.)

(12oz bottle thanks to Jyoungsbcp) clear bright gold pour, few bubbles. Nose is dank, peppercorn, funky, cream, and citrus. Taste of umami, peppercorn, spicy, alcohol, orange peel, prickly carbonation and a spicy linger.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2012 Woo hoo, my first Troegs scratch series. Just reading the descriptions of these beers gets me excited and fills me with respect for Troegs. Deep gold with a quarter-inch of egg-shell-colored foam. Looks a bit hazy, like it may be unfiltered. Aroma is a blast of floral-citrus hops. The spicy smell of raw hop pellets comes to mind right away as well; this may be a result of super-aggressive hopping; I don’t think it adds or detracts from the aroma. More lemon-orange citrus. Nice light-to-medium body with semi-creamy feel to the carbonation. Hop flavor is right up-front, a floral and clean citrus combination, one that is more on the grapefruit side. Spicy yet not harsh bitterness, mild clean sweetness infused. This is a well-built beer and I’m super excited to try the Perpetual IPA they speak of!!!!
