3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a bright, clear amber with a quarter inch off-white head. Nutty aroma with a lot of caramel and a hint of floral hops. Sweet taste. Bready, with caramel and nuts on the finish. Clean palate that drinks very easily. Pretty good. Not as good as a real German marzen, or even as good as some lager specializing breweries like Victory or Stoudts. Still, a nice tasty brew.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled. Poured a lovely shade of medium orange with a nice off-white head. The aroma picked up toasted leafy and almond notes over nutty and caramel notes.. dry, white peppery yeast around.. decent balance, but not great. I enjoyed the flavor a little bit more.. biscuity, nutty, and lesser fruity sweetness at the core, again with leafy bitterness and a hefty yeast imprint around.. quite fruity on the tasty finish. Medium-bodied at most with good balance through the palate.. this grew on me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Pours a clear orange amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice combination of light bread, hay and a bit of underlying grapefruit and flora. Flavor has a good amount of bread with backing earthy hops as well a hint of grapefruit.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Black Squirrel. This was a nice oktoberfest that poured a dark amber with a minimal amount of head. Taste was of sweet malt and a little breadiness. The glass laced nicely but i was missing a finish of alcohol or hops.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from PUB’N. Pours deep copper colored with half a finger of off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, mild fruit..reminds me of hopback amber with less hops and more malt in the nose. Tastes is very malty, rich, perhaps double the malt and a third of the hops of hopback amber, and for my money is the same beer. A solid marzen, but a one-trick recipe pony for me.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle thanks to orangesol. Clear deep orangish amber color with an off-white head that fades to a ring and thick film. Pretty nice aroma, with Munich malts, caramel and toast. The flavor is decent, with bready toast, earth, and a hint of smoke. Medium-bodied with a average carbonation. A good if unexciting fest bier.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz. Bottle: Faint aroma of malt, grain, caramel, slight leaves, and slight nuts. Poured amber in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer, as well as around the edges. Clear. Sparkling. The flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. It tastes of malt, slight caramel, slight hops, barley, and some nuts. Medium body. Lightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter, malt, caramel, nut finish is lightly dry and sticky.

Deep amber with a cream head. Nose is bread, caramel, and sweet. Not bad on the palate, flavor is overly sweet malts, caramel, dough, and super sweet.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I know this bottle is old, friend gave me an entire 6-pack. Murky reddish/orangey/brown with thin head. Nose of sweet malts, namely caramel and sugary. With age, some dark fruit flavors have crept it- raisin, fig, prune, which is quite unusual for the style and quite enjoyable.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Picked up a six pack earlier today at the taproom. Served into a Dogfish imperial pint.
A - Pours a classic Oktoberfest orange with a fluffy two finger tall white head, dissipating down to a thin film, leaving very little lacing down the glass.
S - Smell is very malty. It has quite a bit of biscuit with some sweeter caramel malt helping to keep things in check. The hops are very fairly well balanced against the strong malt. All that being said, this one is a bit on the dull side.
T - Starts off with a bit of light caramel sweetness quickly giving way to a bit of bready malt, earthy hops, and some toffee creaminess. The finish is a mix of chewy malt and caramel sweetness. The flavors are good but it lacks a bit of luster. Still a very nice beer none the less.
M - Medium body and flavor with moderate carbonation. Lots of chewiness on the pallet throughout with a bit of sweetness creeping in at the very end of each sip. Even with all the chewiness I still liked the feel.
O - Not too bad. I enjoy Octoberfest’s but I would never say they are a favorite of mine, that being said this is a very nice one. On a cold day such as today this really hit the spot. Can’t wait to drink a few of these this fall.
