3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Drink4Satan (666) - Frederick, Maryland, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Shared with emerica56. Pours an opaque deep brown with orange edges and a thin, mostly lasting tan head, leaving some lacing. Muted nose of oats, floral hops, berries and chocolate. The initial flavour is both roasty and fruity, with more emphasis on the fruits, with heavy accents of assorted berries. A hearty oatmeal and chocolate backbone kind of make this seem like an imperial stout. The bone-dry, sticky finish really rounds out the flavour, with bitter resin, citric hops and wood. A fruity and and roasty aftertaste linger for some time afterwards. The body is a little thin, the carbonation is a little too strong and the flavour is more fruity than it is roasty and chocolatey. Balanced, but weak for an Imperial stout.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 emerica56 (600) - Bristol, Rhode Island, USA - DEC 12, 2007
This beer was recieved thanks to JB175. It has a dark brown color and there is a thin head to it It has a malty and oatmeal like aroma you can smell that maple syrup coming out of it. It also leaves some nice lacing along the sides of the glass. As the beer warms and you drink it there is a initial chocolate and syrup sweetness folowed by a woody finish and a nice bitterness to complement that. The palate has a really nice maple wood finish which sticks around for a good amout of time and leaves a nice coating.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopscotch (7289) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2007
Bottle… O-Town Throwdown Part Tres… Murky, dark, burnt orange ale with a mid-sized, creamy, tan head. Decent retention. The aroma is rich and malty with barely more than a hint of chocolate. Bitter-sweet, roasted, chocolaty flavor. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. A touch thin for an imperial stout. Burnt, moderately bitter finish.

Darker, blackish pour with a medium tan head. Aroma is very dry and roasty with some dark chocolate. Flavor is an odd, almost sour-roasty flavor with an oxidized coffee thing going on. Can’t figure out why this one didn’t turn out better. Decent feel, but an odd finish. Disappointing, especially considering I’m a big Troegs lover.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kramer (3376) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2007
12 oz bottle. Pours a mostly opaque dark brown body with a little ruby on the edges. Fizzy and foamy one finger light brown head. Lots of heavy lacing. The nose is chocolaty and roasty with some hints of licorice and a touch of coffee. The flavor is fairly dry with lots of roasted malt, though there’s a bit of ashiness also. This almost comes across as more of a Porter to me. Minimal alcohol apparency. The body is just a bit too thin for my tastes with too much fizzy prickly carbonation. Overall, this was OK, but it really didn’t measure up against any of my favorite Imperial Stouts. I had higher hopes for this one.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 hopdog (6943) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 5, 2007
12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a large sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, pine, roast, and vanilla. Tastes of chocolate, vanilla, pine, roast, and a trace of caramel. Thinner for an Imperial Stout. Alcohol content well hidden. Lacing left on the glass.
