COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Export Lager features a single stage decoction—a first for Tröegs Brewery. After combining barley and water we transfer a portion of the mash to the brew kettle for a quick boil. The heated mash is then returned to the mash kettle and the brewing process continues. This process deepens the malt character and adds a subtle toffee backbone to this delicious lager.

We’ve added Magnum hops for bittering and Czech Saaz hops for aroma to create a classic European Noble hop flavor.

Scratch #6-2007 is unfiltered, so there will be a slight haze to the beer.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden body with a small, white-ish head. Smell: Lightly grainy aroma with notes of floral hops and choice, select corn niblets. Taste: Mild malt presence with a touch of corn and having a subtle sweetness. Floral hoppiness with a light, clean bitterness. Finishes quite light and mild. Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Not the most thrilling lager to cross my path, but a decent one.

Poured hazy gold with a fluffy white head. Aroma of fruit. A little to sweet for my taste. Some fruit but more sweet malt.

Pours a clear golden color into the lager glass with an inch head that went away quickly. Lacing stuck around awhile. A apple and honey scent proved to be the same as the taste. A slight saaz hop flavor and some malt in the finish. A drinkable beer that is not very exciting. I am glad I got a chance to sample this beer.

Bottle from Adrian and served in a standard pint glass: Pours a hazy golden hue with a nice lasting frothy head and left okay lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of bready continental malts, grassy and herbal hops (can notice the Saaz), slight pear and honey esters. The taste starts with a moderate level of sweet grains and supported by a light handed herbal bitterness with just a touch of fruity twang in the background. A touch sweeter than I would like for the genre but all in all a easy drinking and refreshing bier. More favorful than many Dorts likely due to being unflitered.

Golden color with a medium head. Aroma is grainy and a tad citrusy. Flavor started out sweet (honey) with some gentle grains, but left a strange aftertaste. Not bad, but I can’t see this one being a regular. It seems like they have to mix in an equal number of sub-par brews with the good ones in this series, but I’m glad to try every one of the scratches.

Bottle courtesy of hopdog. Thanks Steve! Hazy golden pour with a sticky moderate white head. Aroma is malty and very grainy with light lemon and floral hops. Taste is equally grainy with more grassy and floral hops, light lemon, buttery malts and yeast. Body is light-medium with moderate to strong carbonation. This beer ends with more grains, wheat, lemon and floral hops being dominant.

12 oz. bottle via trade with AlexDeLarge - Pours a hazy golden color with a two finger thick white head. Nice lacing. Aroma is herbal hops and light grain. Again, flavor is herbal hops, light spice, and light grain. Medium body. A decent beer. Thanks Jason.

I was hoping to be "wowed" and filled with awe nad all I get is this rather we.l crafted lager with nice, if plain body and simlpy hopped beer that winds up with a decently clean finish that carry the hops with it. Neither mind blowing nor awe-inspiring, but well made just the same. As these were the brewers series done to capture the spirit of their early days I could either let it go or say I wished they had added just a bit more to make this shine. It’s freakin’ close, but as is not sure I could pick out from many other lagers in a blind tasting.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma is very herbal. Smells of herbs, yeast, and grass. Kinda smells like cow pie. Poured yellow/orange/gold in color with a medium sized white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Flavor of herbs, grass, Udon noodles, corn, cornstarch. Light to medium body. Slightly stick texture. Average carbonation. Herbal finish.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold with a medium white head. Aroma of fresh yeast, bitter hops with a touch of zesty lemon. Taste is hop bitter with hints of fresh yeast, rye and bread dough. Has a grassy finish.
